I know heading into 7.0 they said they wanted to go away from older FF jobs and come up with more unique to XIV stuff. Agree with @Juvarisx , the armor they could do for that could be so sick.

They will be tank and physical ranged dps, this has been pretty well guessed for all of 7.X.
