This is how ads will end up at some point, not on day 1 mind you but eventually.

You will get an ad, and you will be able to interact with it to purchase the product somehow and by doing so, you will get an in-game benefit, maybe cosmetic but most likely p2w.

For example an ad for Pizza Hut, order a pizza and get 10% xp bonus permanently.

It's going to be awful that's for sure.

Updating ads on billboards in a virtual city like in a GTA type game or a sports game would be interesting.

If I'm paying AAA prices I expect a full game with no adverts. I'm not happy with battlepasses but will suffer them if it's paying for future content.

They already show ads when you pause on the TV streaming services like Tubi and Pluto, not surprised games are going to have it.

As explained to me by someone who's successful studio was bought and closed by Microsoft:
The Microsoft managers have a certain promotion cadence, and if you're not launching your next product within that window, the cost of your studio is basically just an anchor around their neck, no matter how much money you'll make in the long run. The initial acquisition team likely needs you to make your money back for their reputation of course, but the more promotion cycles that have passed since your acquisition, the easier it is for someone to decide that their career is going to go better if they get you off of their balance sheet.
All about that available cash for publicly traded companies. It's infuriating.

So apparently some Microsoft Exec was quoted today as saying they need more games like HiFi Rush on Game Pass, lol.

The video game industry fucking sucks lol.
Studios need to stop selling out to big corps. Fromsoft and Larian are not doing this shit to their employees.

All of them are focused on turn, churn, and burn. Companies no longer reward innovation but rather only value destruction.
