I believe (not that it's a big deal) that this is likely a Carpenter Bee. I've taken insect macros for many years. I can even see hints of the "Ocelli" eyes between the compound eyes. (Pic below of Carpenter Bee in flight is not one of mine.)

Is this "Pam, Pam, Pam!" from Seinfeld??? Sure looks like her. The Velvet Scrunchy?? PS, these little chuckle heads showed up in my backyard last week.
