The Crossover stuff will have some weird content rules added to it - I'm of mixed feelings about that. Got a feeling it'll be mini-campaign like (original w/ Flower Knight) Children of the Bloom style minor tweakery that isn't too impressive. (FK is cool as shit and original Children of the Bloom is fun, but it only adds a minimal amount of changes from Core campaign vs. DK and SS)

Extra dice are actually quite valuable - unless you're playing solo - and especially if you're playing at a large table. Sure you can use OTHER d10's, but the hit location dice are a bit more problematic and if you've got a big table (which you should have) slinging them across the table will end up with them on the floor more often than not. I do not and will not ever regret my choice to buy an extra set of dice ages ago. (Of course they were also cheaper then - $10/set - but if we started having regular 4 player games w/ non-owners I'd probably consider moving up to 4 sets - since I appreciate the efficiency that the second owner in our group brings his set of dice with him when he plays here and I note the efficiency from the third set)

Bases are a mixed bag - there's better ways of basing models overall - but for a quick and dirty "fitting" base they're incredible. But if you want to passion project base-doodads you'll always beat the face bases. Pre-narrative sculpts I would've been more assertive about them being really, really good. Now they're still decent, but the narrative sculpts since almost every one has a custom base (if not all? I've lost track...) will look leagues better. I fully expect to retire all my non-starter survivors for narratives once they're here.

One of the best secondary investments I've seen (not that I've done it yet myself - not found a good source yet for 3D printing files since I've theoretically got access to a highend 3D Printer via my local Makerspace - keep either finding ones that look bad to me in the render or end up being the wrong format for theirs, lol ><) would be the 3D terrain some people have put together - while "tile terrain" certainly works it does harm the game aestethic to a degree with so much beautiful modeling with full dimensionality versus a tile.

Thanks, that was the exact info I was looking for.

My minds already going full speed towards storage as the next step, ha!

For storage, I've been using binders w/ coin sheets (2" x 2") for storing gear cards in an organized fashion. And a bookshelf for minis - long run I'd like to have a lighted display case (curio would truly be my ideal - but around here they're a far better bang for the buck since we've got sooooo man thrift stores that great curios are super cheap around here), but planning to move elsewhere in the somewhat near future so I'm not buying anything with glass in the interim. Most of the rest fits into the box without too much fuss. Although I do use an organizer type box to stash my tokens and small terrain tiles + dice.

I have a Satan pledge too from day 1, I don't think I plan to get any cross-over promo stuff. There's just so much content that's actually on theme, I don't see myself caring too terribly much about even the stuff with game content like the super saiyan survivor/nemesis crap, or even this pathfinder thing that seems to be basically an actual expansion. He's got a really interesting theme/aesthetic/feel, and after getting 4k+ MSRP worth of shit for 1666, I don't think I need some extra crap that isn't on theme.

That said, I will 100% be sleeving anything that's being played with (so just whatever's in the current campaign), and will likely buy at least 1 set of dice. Some games I sleeve 100% contents, others I only sleeve what's being played with. Eldritch Horror for instance, I sleeve all the decks you use in every game, but the ancient one decks are unsleeved until I choose which one I'm playing, then swap the sleeve set from the last game's AO to the new one. KD:M at Satan tier just has way, way too much crap to sleeve 100%. The binder idea isn't bad for gear cards, especially in a game where gear isn't really drawn randomly, but recipe-crafted or awarded by name.

Also yeah, got the Dark Souls email today too. Those minis look pretty sweet, hope the gameplay pans out well. If I remember right, I got a few add-ons... the forest/grove expansion thinger, Four Kings, and possibly one more big boss, don't remember tho.

I agree with the pledge responsibly comment. "Pledge responsibly! oh btw everything is like half off and you probably won't ever be able to find anything in print and if you do it'll be full price on my store so this is your only chance".

While the completionist in me wanted a Satan, the timing couldn't be worse for me. I got in on day one so I got a Black Friday core, gambler, gorm, and dragon at least. I know that will keep me busy for years, so I'm consoling myself with that fact.

I'm the only one of my friends who doesn't like TIME stories. The setup of the areas just feels clunky, though in general a neat idea.
I enjoy it because I feel immersed in the game and it encourages everyone getting a day unlike a lot of other co-ops.

We played New Angeles last night. It was a fun game, a lot of negotiation, but people tanking just for their investment really kind of sunk us. Think people did a poor job of seeing the big picture and that brought the game down a bit. We're still arguing about why people did some things, so that's good/bad ;) Looking forward to playing it again, hopefully with 5+ instead of 4.

Just got my email for the conclusion, Satan pledge successfully charged.

Mine just went through now too - life started kicking my ass so lowered my pledge to cover through 2017 (and my missing xpacs) - I'll have to grab 2018+ stuff at retail unless he opens up late pledges. Sucks, but gotta do what I gotta do for the woman.

Ended up going with a Gambler's 2nd Face pledge + Lion God (for Silver City), Flower Knight and Spidicules (for Abyssal Woods), and DBK. It's a lot of money, but my plan is to play Core Game + Gambler's + old expansions until the new expansions arrive in like 2020, then I'll decide what part of the new stuff I'll be selling, if any, depending on how much play time the Core Game got. It's practically certain to sell for MSRP or close to it IMO. Someone on BGG counted that with a Satan pledge you've got something like over 900 hours of gaming to do, if you don't restart. Hope you have a lot of free time, Seananigans!

I'm getting rid of the male pinups for sure, for dollars or not...

Made it clear to the woman that I paid for this by having a couple of vacation weeks paid (already missed 17 weeks this year due to various reasons), so my normal budget was unaffected. She nodded. Was a lot less painful than I thought!

I purposely avoided reading more about the game because I didn't want to spend that much and I knew I might talk myself into it.

Had some friends over on Friday to play some games...pulled out Legendary even though one guy didn't like cooperative and another had never played deck-building. Everyone walked away really enjoying it, though. We were going against Magneto with the Skrull scenario, which is a scenario I had never played before. We were getting our butts kicked early, but a couple of us ended up with some massively powered decks that was able to wipe the board and get us the win.
The un-cooperative guy ended up liking it and was invested because there was an "MVP" competition with who could get the most victory points.

We then played Carcassone which someone else brought. I've never been a fan of the game, but we had a lot of good laughs trying to screw each other over with tile placement.

I still need to get TMNT, Tesla vs Edison, Cosmic Encounters, Golem Arcana, and Star Trek: Five Year Mission out on the table. Need to play more Betrayal at House on the Hill since I got the expansion, too. Hate having games on the shelf I haven't played.

Yeah, I was just talking to my lady last night about going through my games and getting rid of some of them. I try to be careful about what I buy, but I have probably 6-8 games I've never even played, 20 or so that get played once a year, and another 10-15 that have been played once ever and we just don't have any desire to play them again. Cosmic Encounter is on that list, as well as Ghost stories and Smash Up off the top of my head. At least with Mini games I have the "Ohh no one liked Zombicide or Descent? No worries, more baddies for DnD!", but these other ones... I have no idea how to even give them away.

Also, mildly ironic that even though I have a couple thousand invested in board games, what has more play than anything else? Star Realms. It's fast, it's easy to play, and its fun.

Yeah, Star Realms got a lot of play. Although my group has moved on to Chthulu Realms. I need to break out Hero Realms and see if it's any better. Secret Hitler is a favorite whenever I can get at least 5 people. I keep things around that I don't love (besides being a bit of a hoarder) just because sometimes a friend will want to try it. Boss Monster 2 and Zombicide are like that.
I pretty much have all the genres covered at this point, so I'm a bit more picky about what I add, but every so often I'll impulse buy something.

I'm sure I'll get my money's worth and more! I absolutely love this kind of thing.

I'm looking for recommendations on a very simple-to-learn game for 4-6 players. I tend to spend quite a bit of time with my in-laws on holidays, and beyond making them feel embarrassed while playing Cards Against Humanity, I'd like to play another game with them. It'll be my bother-in-law, his wife, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and my wife and I playing. None of them are gamers (i.e. they may take a few explanations to understand normal concepts within the traditional game world), but all of them are smart enough to beat me once they understand the rules and the game-meta.

Someone had suggested Codenames. That's a great, not heavy game that I recommend. There are some social deduction games that may work for your group. Avalon, Resistance, and Secret Hitler. Objective of those games are to basically trying to figure out everyone's secret identity. Another fun easy game I like for my group is King of Tokyo. Lots of dice rolling and fighting each other.

Picked up Dominion to play with the wife last week. We played tonight and realized how big money is super strong. It pretty much seems like big money + 1 up the other big money is all you are playing for.
