For shits and giggles, me and my roommate have started a YouTube Channel. I'm not linking it here asking for subscribers or anything, we are still really rough and going through the pains of streaming etc.

However, in order to make the dollars from YouTube, you need to set up Monetization through Google Adsense. I think I applied for an account properly, but when I go to the Monetization page on YouTube all it says is " Your AdSense application is being reviewed. You will receive an email about the status of your application soon." It's been like this for a week now. How long does that shit take?

I can't find anyway to contact Help, or Support, or whatever, and from searches online, there is no way to contact YouTube in the slightest. Was hoping one of my FoH bros also had a channel and could give me an idea of what to expect.

Thanks

You could email the RLM guys at PreRec, too.

They've talked about the backend of it in passing a few times. Jack might actually respond. I doubt they get more than a few hundred emails a week.

I tried cooking meth once.

Killing the mexican wasn't nearly as hard as it was portrayed. All in all I'd have to say it was easier than cooking the meth.

I saw a youtuber talking about a channel where a 4 year old reviews his toys, and it made like 1.6 millions dollars in a month from ad revenue.

I was finally able to link my account and my Adsense together. I've made $0.02 so far, well on my way to retiring bros.

It's not strictly based on views, but on ad clicks from your channel. That's why things like toy reviews and box openings do so well relative to things that are entertainment oriented. One of the most successful channels in the history of YouTube is this chick with pretty hands, who never speaks, that opens boxes of random shit she's ordered and shows it off. And you never see more of her than her hands. The bitch is a millionaire several times over, all from YouTube.

What's a recommendation for pc video capture software. My daughter wants to do her own let's play type videos.

Computer's 9 years old so can't have something insane. Just for Minecraft and Roblox.

It gets the job done for simple shit

I honestly think the YouTube wave has mostly ended. It's very saturated. You'll get the occasional new thing like "guy cuts random shit with 2000 degree knife," but unless you come up with some click baitey shit like that, good luck making more than a few hundred bucks.

Nah, if anything, people are making more money, even really niche youtubers.

I wasn't saying YouTube was dead. Just that anyone hoping to start up a random channel and quit their jobs probably already missed their opportunity.
