This is going to be awful.

The movies looks....flashy (no pun intended).
Cyborg looks awful. CGI from the 90's

Doesn't look good or bad. Just ok. Still WAY too grey and washed out. Ronon 'Aquamam' Dex going back to what works best for him and will be the highlight until Sups shows up with a new, lighter personality explained by his death and rebirth.

Heres the problem. Its the parademons. Like we can sit here and discuss making the League characters work, etc all we want, but none of THAT matters in the face of what looks like generic alien zombie monsters #44394u2390. will THIS have a fucking giant blue lazer firing into the sky? I feel like it will.

No barda? no stepphenwolf? Kalibak? no granny goodness, no lashina, no scott free, no Orion?
the only thing that can save this movie, is if the Alien invaders are actual characters, and not faceless cgi monsters.
And dont even get me started on if/when Darkseid shows up, and just punches people.

This should have started with a full on warroom of darkseid and generals planning an attack on Earth. Take the visuals from Thor, and copy/mirror them. These are Alien Gods, invading Earth. Have Glorious Godfrey and Granny goodness setting up shop, sowing dissent, and cults. Could have easily tied both of them into BvS. Its frankly insane, they KNEW they were doing Apokolips, in JL, and did not involve G.G. into that nonsense with Lex.


Also, 100% cgi backgrounds?

Calm the fuck down, it's only the first trailer. They'll spoil the main bad guy in the second one (just like they did with BvS) and you'll be able to bitch and moan about something else.

I haven't read a single comic book in my entire life. I have no idea what the fuck you are talking about and it all sounds absolutely awful. It's not your fault I'm not trying to insult you, you've (I assume) read DC comic books and have a fondness for those characters. They just haven't been introduced to an ignorant audience.

We know Superman/Batman from their movies, Wonder Woman was on TV before I was born but I've heard of it and Sheldon in Big Bang Theory goes on about The Flash all of the time and he has a TV show weirdly not part of the movie canon.

Marvel's nonsense is just as bad but I'm really hyped for Infinity War because of just how much time they spent setting up their weird shit with at least good enough quality movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor and Doctor Strange - there's literally going to be FIVE movies laying the groundwork for space aliens two of which are in the year before the film is out.

This film shouldn't be being made AT ALL. We should be watching a teaser for Aquaman, actually Aquaman - the lamest superhero of them all - seems like the one good part of all of this.

the success and failure hinges on an interesting and compelling villain. CGI shitfest aliens is fucking awful. Trailer is just a bunch of cgi cutscenes of the "heroes" facing off against cgi mooks.. that you guys don't look at that and think... well fuck. is worrisome.
we KNOW who the fucking justice league are. that you DONT know who the fuck I am talking about, is exactly why those figures should have been in this movie, and been the centerpiece of any promo.

Look how much time is spent on the Joker in the first The Dark Knight trailer. and even harvey dent.



hell, ffs look at the POWER RANGERS trailer.
ensemble introduction. real locations. introduces Rita even. the power rangers trailer is more compelling, and establishes a basic coherent story.

as someone who doesn't really know shit about DC canon beyond "batman is the batman" i feel like that trailer was supposed to make me excited or something but all I took away were two things:

1. wonder woman's thighs look pretty awesome, and i spent a few minutes rewinding that one scene trying to see if you can see her panties (you cannot)
2. the bad guys look like something from age of ultron and even more boring. i have no idea who these people or fighting or why i should care. If you don't have a great bad guy, your comic book movie is gonna suck

definitely does not feel like a team in any way, the color palette just feels washed out and grimdark, maybe this is one of those things where the trailer sucks and the movie is better.

I got absolutely zero excitement about the trailer except WW's thighs as well. Knowing what I know of the comics, I should be ready to see this group work together but it's just...a mess.

I liked the trailer but I haven't seen a DC comics related film since Superman Lifts from 2006.

Thinking about it my opinion is probably not worth much as I will not watch this in the theater, will not buy the DVD, will not rent it redbox, won't watch it on Netflix, won't pirate it for free, and if it was playing in the background at a friend's house I'd probably leave.

But I thought it looked pretty good.

The main point I took away from this post is that DC has some retarded names for characters.

Trailer looks good to me, but I agree some of the special effects are iffy. Hopefully they'll be polished up a bit.

Looks about on par enjoyment-wise with Batman v Superman and Man of Steel, which is fine with me.

You are right about villains, the best Marvel films are the ones with Loki. Winter Soldier was badass. Iron Man as "bad guy" was cool too. Then you have Magneto in X-Men.

However the other Marvel films are at least fine even with weak villians because of time spent building good individual characters.

Granny Goodness sounds retarded, they can't lead with that.
