So I need a baller Plains to put in my deck. What should I get? Unglued full art? Is there a foil full art?

I only need one of them so it needs to be worth putting in there.

Guru. Or Summer Magic if you want something nobody will recognize as fancy unless you show them.

I sold mine when I unfoiled a legacy deck.

Just get beta basics. They look sweet, and are affordable. Nothing else really scales very well so when you inevitably want to use your awesome basics in another deck, you'll end up having to buy more of something.
Luckily I just need one for this deck!

Eventually I will need 20 of each and 30 mountains for RDW.

Can confirm, beta basics are the way to go. The right balance of swag vs being able to realistically have 10-20 of them on hand for various decks.

If you're feeling a bit more spendy the APAC lands are 100% hands down the best land art you can buy without going for alters: APAC Lands - Magic the Gathering (MTG)

APAC lands look alright, but I wouldn't say they're the best. The Great Wall Plains is pretty nice, though.

I am probably going to buy one of those judge promos because of how sweet it looks to me. Hoping to find one local just to look at first.

If you're into foils, any 7th? and older (brown border) basic lands look fantastic... few years back spent a fair amount buying up everything I could find, now have 200-300 of each and many of them have Avon's artwork. Outside of all the over priced basic lands these are the next best thing, they really pop.

I use Urza's Saga. You get John Avon, Rob Alexander, Donato Giancola and Anthony Waters. The old border/color being different makes a bit easier to find. And the sweet sweet nostalgia.

So, noob question here...What's my best route for selling off some old Magic cards? Is there even a market for them anymore? Do I just try some random FLGS or is there somewhere online that's better? I don't really want to go an Ebay type route where i lose 20% of my money off the top.

I played heavily in 1995-1997, so I have 3rd,4th edition, tons of Ice Age and the other expansions I can't recall the names of from around that time. I do know I have a full 3rd edition set (Though I did trade one or two of the dual lands I never used for dual lands that I did use ). Cards are all in great condition. I played with them but always sleeved, and stored them in nice solid cardboard card boxes. I've basically had them stored for 15 years, figure it would be nice to part with some (or all) and put the money towards new hobbies. I loved playing the game back in the day but don't think I'll ever pick it back up again.

Hey fellas. I posted this a while back. I am now moved and have my cards back from my dads house. Heylel or anyone interested in starting up a conversation about what you're interested in / what I have?

Shoot me a PM, and we can get the ball rolling.

Same, PM me with anything from the early days of MTG, or staple stuff like goyfs etc. I'm legit interested in about anything beta, or from the AN - Legends time period. More modern stuff is sortof a crapshoot depending on what weird gaps I have in my collection.

Just a warning, pretty much everything is junk from revised, 4th - 7th ed, chronicles, ice age, homelands, etc. other than duals. Literally anything between 4th and onslaught that isn't a known legacy staple isn't worth a stamp. It's bulk, and I would just dump it on a vendor for .25 per thousand. I bought something stupid like 80,000 cards off Ronne a few years back and I only kept around 2,000 of it once it was all sorted. The rest went to SCG. I did just fine on that buy, but a decent chunk of the value in old collections like that is in taking the time to sort through it all.

Duals, beta/UL stuff, and a lot of weird and random stuff from Arabian Nights, Antiquities, and Legends are high value. Even in those sets you have a shitload of chaff. I'm not trying to scare you off, just temper your expectations.

In fairness though, a lot of those staples are pretty wild.

Oh definitely. I'm not trying to lowball him.

Hateyou, feel free to copy anything I PM'd you in the thread. It's not top secret or anything. Other people's advice may differ from mine.
