    The Odyssey (2026)

If that is so, Oppenheimer proved the opposite that if you all-white the main cast and tell a white-guy story you can get stronger consideration over more deserving movies. And no rules on diversity or anything existed when Moonlight won in 2017. Almost 10 years ago? You really think Nolan...

    The Odyssey (2026)

What would an historically accurate Odysee look like? Bunch of people get on a boat, 2 guys die in a storm, 2 more to scruvy. 3 months later they come home. The End.

    The Odyssey (2026)

They did that 5-ish years ago and as has been pointed out, the rules are so lax, every single Best Picture winner in Oscar history all the way back to the 1920s or so would've qualified under those rules. And Oppenheimer won no problem with basically an all-white cast and using 21st Century...

    Street Fighter (2026)

Doesn't look very historically accurate to the actual 90s. Should put Elon on it.

    The Odyssey (2026)

Christians didn't build jack shit. They collapsed civilisation when the child-fucking-priest religion took hold back in ancient rome and civilization only somewhat recovered when people starting throwing out Christian bullshit in the Rennaissance.

    The Odyssey (2026)

I mean sure. But neither did Nolan ever claim the Odysee would be a historically accurate movie (never mind it being basically ancient greek superhero comics to begin with).

    The Odyssey (2026)

Nothing about Apocalypto was remotely historically accurate. Mayan civilization it pretends to show is off by hundreds of years, while also being mashed up with Aztec sacrifices which they didn't do, small-post stuff which didn't happen unti centuries latter, etc.. Nolan could've filmed the...

    The Odyssey (2026)

Don't think Sweeney was born from a swan egg. Gotta get a genuine bird in there for accurate casting. Also, kilts or pictish face-paint for the Aussie-Braveheart were just as off historically as the hoplite armour in the Odyssey, no?

    The Odyssey (2026)

I mean, not entirely untrue. Quite a few beats are just recycled Oppenheimer in sandals ... at least all the "I feel so guilty for creating a weapon that changed warfare", or so.

    The Odyssey (2026)

Which is not how it would work. Since the crash was "there" to un-crash from the perspective of the regular time, nobody would have to clean up the crash. Quite the opposite. People would have to come in and set up the crash so it would be there to "un-crash" and leave the road clean afterwards...

    The Odyssey (2026)

And even if it's just a few weeks or even days. There's a crashed (inverted) Saab just lying around on a major busy highway that everyone ignores until it reverse-uncrashes during the chase. What happened on the day before? People just calmly steered around that wrecked car? Nobody informed...

    Avengers: Doomsday (2025)

Seems like fairly uninspired member-berry slop very obviously squeezing nostalgia moments like Hammer-Cap from long, long, long ago?
  13. Z

    The Odyssey (2026)

I liked it. Excellent movie. Nolan moving away from up-his-ass super-pretentious bullshit like Interstellar or Tenet brings out the better aspects of his talent.

    Project Hail Mary

    Spoiler, I guess

    Mercy (2026)

Timur Bekmambetov Produced the Ice-Cube one. Also did Searching and Missing. Those in-front-of-computer-movies are kinda his thing.

    A House of Dynamite (2025)

First go-round was really good. Going through it 2 more times didnt add anything though, IMO. I feel like this multiple-perspective thing needs to add new information or a new twist to make it worthwhile? Like you see the events leading up to a murder from perspective 1, and it creates the...

    Young Washington (2026)

I mean, he did own hundreds of slaves and Washington's "murder confession" is an interesting historical tidbit, even if it's not him being a "murderer" in a modern sense, I guess.

    F1 (2025)

maybe. But also the Joseph Kosinski-connection is probably legit.

    Thunderbolts* (2025)

Nah. Discs are cringe. Go back to VHS and a year of having to physically get those from a Blockbuster near you, before you put it on stream.

Attack of the 50 Foot Woman

So all they need to do is include some obscure cameo and/or opening crawl hint referencing a previous 50-foot women movie, and suddenly it'll magically not be a remake :)

The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)

Seems like it'll outperform all other Fantastic Four movies, even adjusted for inflation, even with all other fantastic four movies releasing in a pre-COVID, much more theatre-focussed market. On top of potential Marvel and/or super hero fatique. Etc.. seems. The last time a Jurrasic-Dino...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)

    The Naked Gun (2025)

Keeping it short and cheeful is also definitely a strength. Works for what it is and for doing a Naked Gun movie without Nielson.

    Superman: Legacy (2025)

I mean, the "Superman-lifts-buildings/islands/planets/whatever without them breaking" trope has been around forever. And Zack Snyder did it just the same in Justice League 🤷‍♂️

    Superman: Legacy (2025)

Considering your species / race to be apriori superior (White or Kryptonian) and by extention entiteled to conquer and rule others on geneologial merit, as well as do some purposeful breeding to preserve/re-create the superior species hits a lot of Nazi boxes. Missing the obsession with Nation...

    Superman: Legacy (2025)

Woman of Tomorrow was very popular comic series that received mutliple awards. Seems like a pretty straightforward idea to take that, no? Like X-Men Dark Phoenix or whatever. Adaptations might be shit, but movies will always come back to it because it's got name recognition. That said...

    Avengers: Doomsday (2025)

    Marvel Universe stuff

so are Ant Man, Gambit, etc.. bring a thief is a pretty common comic archetype 🤷‍♂️ The whole hero-in-mask-doing-good-while1being-an-outlaw schtick superheroes are build on comes from Robin Hood, Zorro, etc-style thief-myths

    Thunderbolts* (2025)

The concept of a "superhero ladder" has always been flawed. Superhero-fights always end exactly as the story demands it and every superhero ever written can both lose and win to every other superhero ever written at all times. There is no ranking.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (2025)

Mission Impossible past 4 or so is just Johnny Knoxville with more budget and less jokes. They don't even market them with anything in the movie anymore, and mostly Tom Cruise breaking his toe or loosing some teeth in some dumb stunt.

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023)

Nah. Just MI. Ghost Protocol isn't my favourite, but it tried something different from MI3 with the putting the spectactular stunts front and centre of the movie (and even more so the marketing) The forgot to make an actual movie with a story and characters and such to go with it, but it was...

    Deadpool & Wolverine

They are not making any claims or coherent argument about timelines. Marvel multiverse is just an excuse for random cameos and memberberries, fuck logic, since the Spiderman one. Now with extra 4th-wall breaks. That's all.

    The Acolyte

I mean, describes Empire Strikes Back perfectly. Add to that horribly forced ret-cons like making Vader suddenly Luke's father, which fits in zero with the original movie. Woke agenda of having a black guy run a trading outpost. Forced strong women-shit by implying Leia might be force sensitive...

    The Acolyte

Dunno. seems fairly standard scifi channel stuff with star wars painted on. Is it great cinematic art? No. Is it Prequel/ewok-levels bad? No. YouTube/Twitter trying to make every random Star Wars thing into the next huge woke-scandal before the elections is getting a bit trite.

    Blade (2025)

The funny thing is, nobody ever used to claim he's some hard-wording down-to-earth bro earning an honest living by "working his ass off" either. His schtick was always low-effort hollywood paychecks for minimal work to supplement is social media ego-trip, no?
