It's not a bad league and it'll get a lot better as they patch. It's just not a juicing league. Juicing is a big part of both the endgame of Path of Exile and the streamer meta and all that trickles down to your generic redditor.

Equipping uniques on mercs takes Luminary ascendancy points and there's no node on the ascendancy to allow you to put a unique chest on one. So wear a prototype yourself!
