Why is this about religion?
Anyway.. I had one of those phases (wouldn't quite call it a crisis, just brief periods of intense despair) but I was older than most people here I guess. Around 30ish.. and it had nothing to do with jobs, careers, school, girls or any of that. The trigger for me...
I wouldn"t be surprised if 90% of the internet was born on Jan. 1. That"s what I put everytime some throw-away site or random video asks for age verification.
And yet you are still allowed to keep posting in this thread... ? And you think Tuco is a bad mod? I hate to see what you do to your dog after he finally wises up and bans you.
Geez you are some kind of idiot. It"s not her job to make games. It"s her job to be a CEO of a company and her previous game experience has no bearing on that ability. She isn"t deciding what the gameplay will be, she isn"t balancing classes, she isn"t doing any of that shit. Car company CEOs...
Sorry bud, but you are living in the past if you think any game that allows one group of people to essentially dictate dev-created content and effectively limit and/or cut-off large sections of the game from another group based solely on what particular race you happened to roll on what...
Well technically steampunk is fantasy. It incorporates magic and wizards and orcs and everything else alongside technology we may be familiar with from around the 19th century. Hell even WoW has many steampunk elements i.e. guns, trains, flying machines, robots, etc.
It would be nice if...
Exactly. People make this assumption that people raided VT during PoP/GoD because it was fun. Here"s a hint: it was not. They did it because it was that or nothing.
Why the fuck wouldn"t you just RAF a group at a time through instances? You could get 4-5 chars to 60 in 2 days.. 2 weeks and your whole force would have been 60. And this thread is how old now? Jesus. Sam.. you are a fucking moron.
WoW was delayed several times actually. If anyone was rushing it was SOE. Blizzard would have done just as well releasing the first 2 or 3 times it was scheduled to, if the product was ready.
Come on people. Don"t turn this into yet another Ut vs. the world thread. Don"t get me wrong, I love reading them as much as the next guy but confine it to one place please.
The thing with a tutorial is, that for those that don"t need it it"s skippable or can be run through in no time.. but for those who DO need it it"s invaluable. Don"t be myopic, realize that these games need vets and noobs alike. WoW has attracted more people who never played a game seriously...
No one wants to be the "trash tank". It"s the fucking "you suck, but I"m going to let you tank this meaningless crap while I go get a blowjob and sammich and come back just in time to tank the boss and get the praise from everyone for getting the job done" role.
Maybe you haven"t played games...
Hey I know, you could have warriors be based around armor and shields and martial abilities. Then you could have some that use divine protections and holy abilities, let"s call those paladins. Then maybe you could have some sort of paganistic fighter that uses nature and animal attributes.. call...
There"s no reason to have caps in the first place. It"s just stats and more of the same old same old people claim to be tired of. How about you keep your itemization simple. None of these dozens of ratings, or strikethrough or whatever. Basic stats that have varied effects on your character...
Except that approach doesn"t have longevity. When the bulk of your player base moves past that content and you wind up LFG for 8 hours, people log out and never log back in. Like you said, when something is the fastest way it"s the only way. If grouping is the fastest way yet you can"t get any...
You mean like the hundreds of quests in WoW that start from an object in the world? Except maybe it"s first click, first serve? You aren"t discussing anything different than what"s been done before. Drops from bosses? Yeah.. you mean like Sapp neck, Aten neck, the new Algalon quest, etc. etc.
That"s still loot. And your tanks being able to tank better in turn gets you better loot. This is just classic progression.
Now imagine Vindi drops a scrap of paper that only one person can read, and all it does is let him tell you a story. You going to want to do that again? Sorry, I"m not...
People do that in WoW.. it"s called standing in front of the bank with your shiny new shoulders or sword. I"ve seen plenty of "casuals" or noobs or whatever you want to call them who wereproudof their mid-level blue item that they felt took some effort to get. While many things in WoW may come...
That"d be great if running a heroic and getting some 180dps epic from the last boss was the be-all end-all of WoW. There"s always something better out there, and for those of us who raid a lot.. we can go weeks without seeing an upgrade. Or months waiting on that one fucking item to drop. Same...
What you are talking about is meta-gaming. Same shit we have been doing for years in WoW, only this time you have taken it from just being the best you can possibly be to requiring it to even equip gear enough to not get laughed at.
It"s one thing to do a PuG heroic with someone that doesn"t...
And PoM. And to a lesser extent BS, though they were balanced by needing to melee. Ranged DPS + best heals = just not even fair.
So what do you do? Tweak heals down to uselessness in favor of DPS? Then you just have a current WoW ele shaman or ret paladin. Boost heals and drop DPS to meager...
Then 95% of your players become tank-mages or whatever else proves to be the most powerful, and if you aren"t one then you aren"t included in any reindeer games.
AoC also had healers that could do damage, and had healing abilities tied to doing damage.
Know what people did about them? Bitched at how OP"d they are.
So basically you just want a tank and dps and no healers? And tune shit to that?
Man, this thread has gotten fucking retarded. WTB actual Copernicus info.
Which leads to exactly what I said, requiring a "debuffer" class. Same problem, different archetype label.
Whether it be tank/healer/cc, tank/healer/dps, tank/healer/debuffer, tank/debuffer/dps.. the problem is the same. The roles may shift, but the interdependency still exists. And you know...
The problem with making DPS a side effect of all other roles is that it will make the perceived problem worse. If all tanks can do equal DPS to a CC/DPS class then you won"t even need to bother with the CC.. it just slows shit down. Make a group with 3-4 tanks and 1-2 healers and everyone tank...
Isn"t that what we have now in WoW?
Every DPS class/spec has some sort of CC. Repentance, Wyvern Sting, traps, sap, sheep, succubus, fear, etc. What class lacks CC in some useful form?
Your argument should be aimed at the content, not the classes.
