Vorph's got more experience with Stormcaller than I do, but the dev has said that reckless reaver is supposed to be highest dps to counterbalance the increased risk of low hp and melee requirements etc. So go with whatever is more fun IMO ;p

Yeah, they usually aren't completely retarded when they ask for stuff, though they value hp way more than a player would. Main exception is probably paladin tanks, who always want dps weapons.

AFAIK that's just an AI thing - Reavers do huge damage if they don't click buttons and just autoattack, but the AI wants to click all the buttons so spends their entire time lifetapping themselves for more mana. Windblade might be similar ? Haven't tried them as a player, but as a sim they are...

As far as evil 'monsters' go, that was a great blend of hilarious and unsettling. My, admittedly obvious, prediction:

Ok, I admit I wasn't paying much attention, but did the oxygen situation on Titan make no sense at all ?

Who is 'these folks' here ? I don't think there's any kind of overlap between the boys and star city ?

    Ancient Kingdoms

Ancient Kingdoms is a tight, well-paced game. Some people won't like it, but I'd be surprised if anyone didn't 'get' it. You always know where you are, what's happening, and how you can approach things. Erenshor is a love letter to classic EQ. It's deliberately obtuse and awkward. I suspect a...

Expanse engines are straight up magic, solely there so the story can happen. The idea of space pirates or navies is inherently ridiculous in a universe where the rocket equation holds. I agree completely on Titan - I feel bad for the 'cowardly' boss - the correct answer to 'why aren't we doing...

Yes, but as a solo tank it is harder than you'd expect, because it both enrages and casts heavily damaging aoe stuns

I lol'ed at Farming Life's 'trial by combat'. The show is silly and predictable, but still surprisingly enjoyable. Witch Hat has a lock on anime of the season though.

    Ancient Kingdoms

This is good fun, really hits the single-player mmo target. In early-endgame ( vet 30 ), I think I am going to shelve it for a while to let it cook though. There's a few janky and easily fixable issues ( like not turning on auto-attack with ability, having absolute dogshit tab targeting...

Hold position seems pretty buggy - from basic stuff like having them run around into a different spot and *then* hold position, I've also had some: - Run into a wall and then vanish - Stop attacking and/or healing It also doesn't stop them from running away from boss abilities, which is good in...

Yes, they scale with level. It doesn't seem to change relative difficulty though - like the ice zone has way more mobs spawning much faster than the forest one.

That's probably in the top 10 for self-publish mistakes, although it doesn't come close to the forerunners of discreet/discrete and sheathe/sheath. I think tools like grammarly are actually making it worse because instead of inconsistently getting it wrong, they end up teaching the tool that is...

    Widow's Bay

This is good fun. Not what I was expecting from horror comedy - it's legit really good horror, the comedy isn't making fun of the horror parts, but more about the character's reactions to them. Thumbs up from me after the first two eps.

Prolly depends on what class and mercs you have - troll cave minibosses ( mushroom, troll, crawler ) have the sorcerer set, which is a significant upgrade over the ice cave set for mages - makes a pretty short loop while farming gold. With tank main I pretty much have to take druid and cleric...

    Ancient Kingdoms

There's some others that I found - the troll dungeon is 30-40 as well, there's also some dungeons with weird gaps, like abandoned tombs is a level 10 dungeon, but the eastern wing is level 35 with a level 40 boss. Given the gaps in the bestiary, I'm probably missing several other 30-40 ones.

Getting ganked by the ancient cyclops in the middle of a newbie zone brings me back. All the old flair - like killing a named then finding a quest given to kill that named then waiting an hour for it to respawn ;p

Dunno your class, but if you are warrior you can just stun her to prevent the spider summoning. Slam is a pretty handy skill.

That's not true, even all the way up to current time. The non-human bit is doing a lot of carrying there as well, given that 90% of all the characters are non-human. That, on the other hand, is a completely fair criticism.

There's two different dismisses - if you dismiss from their portrait ( red cross ), then they just go inactive in tavern, they still stay with all their gear etc and you can hire a new one for that slot. The second dismiss, the gray skull on the merc screen, permanently deletes them and, as far...

Path of the Deathless is kind of the ADHD of litrpg, it's pretty much a relentless onslaught of ridiculously over the top action and progression. Central conceit is that the MC gets stronger against whatever killed him each time he gets killed. If you thought DotF was too slow to ramp up this...

That's probably actually a best case for a show like this - don't have to run the line between having no content if you are renewed and spinning wheels going nowhere in the current season. 'You've got a season to wrap it up' is pretty generous.

Sure, you can dislike stuff for whatever reason, I think Seananigan's point was more that it's not always obvious if something you don't like makes a story worse or not, even for you. Like compare the 'I read this story but character x fucking sucked, I hated everything about them' and 'I...

People can mean different things when talking about animation quality, sometimes it's just about whether it looks good, sometimes it is about appreciation of the amount of work that something took to do, or of clever tricks that people hadn't done before - it's kind of like cinematography...

Fucking around with the timeline like they wanted to be Westworld was certainly a choice. I don't do audiobooks, but that sounds like a great idea. Particularly for chrysalis actually, author made the rookie mistake of using adjectives instead of numbers in mutations, so it gets increasingly ridiculous as the MC picks between things glowing-hyper-dense-ultra-compact-compound-plating...

    Monarch: Legacy of Monsters

S2 seems pretty on par with S1 - spots of amazing giant monsters and interesting story, interspersed with painfully pointless family drama. It did set a new low bar for unintentionally hilarious casting though when their 'elite hacker' wasn't able to use an ipad because her fingernails were too...

They did, but they never successfully sued anyone over it. Although I guess 'success' there should be 'patent was challenged and upheld' rather than 'opponent ran out of money defending against our lawsuits'. The latter they managed pretty effectively.

You can't patent game rules and mechanics - adding 'on a computer' shouldn't make any difference. That's one thing going for US patent law I guess. I'll agree that changing that is stupid, and will end up in disaster when no-one can make anything without getting 300 separate licenses from...

NVidia GeForce RTX 50x0 cards - 70% performance increase, but AI > you

In fairness, 'start with something simple then scale it up a lot' is the leading explanation for human intelligence. NVidia GeForce RTX 50x0 cards - 70% performance increase, but AI > you

No, the approach for coding tools has changed quite a lot - they don't work the same way that the chatbots do anymore. Individual steps do, but there's a much larger shift in terms of orchestration and mixed-in non-llm tools, as well as changing ways that context inputs work to avoid the...

NVidia GeForce RTX 50x0 cards - 70% performance increase, but AI > you

Nah, the 'it's just a chatbot!!' is not even remotely accurate. In the coding 'game', it is now a fantastically valuable tool. Is it replacing expert humans ? Not yet at least, but most people drastically underestimate the amount of expertise in any given field. Is it replacing offshore...
