Amish Mafia

Yea, sorta like the police. They even said in the show that the Amish dont like getting the English involved in their shit, they like to deal with it internally through the Bishop and Community leaders and "Amish Mafia". All the people in the show have police records, so there is police in the community, town and county sheriffs and the such. Ive been to the middle of Amish country in PA twice and like Hoss said, they live amongst the English for the most part and ive seen police cars. There are patches of country like there is on the show, but also countryside/rural and farms dotting the urban ladscape. the hotel i stayed at abutted an Amish farm and the kids would use the pool and have bathing suits with legs and sleeves to cover up the bare skin.

the show for the most part is staged to a point, they say some parts are reenactments, but a lot of that shit probably goes on. Watch the episode "The Reckoning" it is sort of like a reunion/after the season sit down with all the people and they address the hypocrisy that is portrayed and prove a few things to a point. they prove that they are indeed Amish. but the biggest BS alarm is that Esther and Merlin had a past.

is it staged? for the most part yea. is there an amish mafia? probably. is levi the head of the lancaster group? who knows. but the promo for the episode in March says that shit will hit the fan suposedly when someone onminous comes into town (big boss man?)

This show is hands down one of worst shows in tv history.
It returns Tuesday for new season.
