Watched someone stream this for a couple hours on Twitch. Fallout in the UK is an apt description of it

I thought there was a big mod project that was fallout 4 in the UK that came out maybe sometime last year? Fallout London if I'm not mistaken.

It's considered the next major Game Pass feature so figured it was worth mentioning. There's been some buzz but I haven't checked it out much.

It's more like someone took some Sniper Elite maps and used them to make a Fallout/STALKER total conversion mod. I think people expecting a full-on Fallout or STALKER type game are going to be disappointed, but it sounds pretty good if you temper your expectations a bit.

They also have micro transactions for resources.

Has that been confirmed anywhere? I've seen people asking about the "In-App Purchases" tag that the game has on Steam, but so far it seems like that's just covering for the preorder/deluxe edition DLC items that will probably be available separately after release. Rebellion does love their MTX (almost as much as they love infecting everything they release on Steam with Denuvo), but in the Sniper Elite games it's typically just skins and occasionally a new weapon.

It does have the retarded "pay $20 extra to play it 3 days early" shit though. And Game Pass doesn't even get the extra items that come with the normal $60 version either.

Yeah I was looking closer and saw what I thought was an individual for sale item on GP was actually the deluxe which comes with extras. Hopefully nothing like fallout 76 or something later.

Sounds about what I expected after the first previews talked about it being like a Sniper Elite total conversion mod. Super short (~15 hours for him to 100%) but still worth playing especially on Game Pass. He also said to go into it completely blind, even to the point of not watching his review because it's hard to talk about the the game without spoiling anything.

Sadly the NZ trick didn't work on this one. They went with a global launch at 10AM EDT tomorrow.

I am nearing the end of Chapter 11 in Resident Evil 4 Remake on PS Pro right now - so going to wrap that up Friday and then start this on Saturday.

After that I really should do a complete playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 along with the DLC. I stopped for some reason mid-way through.

Regime Regime has to work all weekend otherwise we could have played Split fiction but no. He has to go work. Dumb.

Not the best first impression -- got 5 minutes into the tutorial area and sound cut completely out. Save/load didn't fix it, had to close completely out and restart the game to get it back. And this is on Series X, not my PC.

Yeah there are tons of reports of bugs. Crashing too. If you have Atmos configured on your Series X I would disable it and see if the sound still crashes out. (Any Spatial for that manner)

Xbox sound bug doesn't appear fixable until they put out another patch, so I switched over to PC. Runs well on Ultra, good 21:9 support, and it's the kind of game where m/k helps quite a bit so I think I'll probably just stick with it there.

One minor and one major complaint, but otherwise it's pretty good. Inventory management is annoying. I'm about 5 hours in and I've been full up on almost every crafting material for more than half of that. Main inventory is small too so it's really only convenient to craft stuff when you're near a stash location so that you can toss everything you make in there until you need to use it or (more likely) barter it. The major complaint is the respawn system, which I really hope is bugged because this is bordering on absurd. Enemies constantly respawn, often even when you just enter a zone and come right back out to the previous spot.

played about 5 hours.... now i'll stop till they fix it.
I was honestly enjoying the game, exploring, reading the notes is not that bad to see where to go etc...
BUT
My biggest issue. Enemy Respawns (now, normally, not an issue in most games). In this game, they respawn when you save and load.
So, if you clear an area, or half way through, and you have to quit (go to work, sleep, etc) and you save and quit. When you come back, everything you killed is back and you are in the middl of it. Usually instant death.
finding a place to log out... sure, but when you log back in and the enemies are all there again, you don't get refreshed ammo, you are down everything you used to clear that area and are now limited to what little you have left.
Also found that save/load will literally (Unload your weapons) ... not sure if you lose the ammo or not, did not care to test to see.

If not for this one HUGE issue, i'd continue playing. back on the shelf it goes.

You need to restart RE4 but man up and play through the PSVR2! ;)

I uninstalled this garbage. It was mildly entertaining but then I realized that the whole story was going to, again, to full-faerie.

(because of course any fantasy thing in England has to go Midsummer Nights Dream right??)

I was still okay with this until I found myself hidden while NPCs got stuck trying to to path through me and even let me stealth kill their friends while staring right at me. ... I don't have time for lazy generic garbage like this.

Your guess about what's really going on is completely off the mark btw. Don't want to spoil anything more than that. It's not the most shocking reveal by any means, but it's still better if you don't know anything going in.

That stealth thing is weird too. I found sneaking around to be very rarely useful even with the skills you can get. Takes way too long to move around at a crawl, and then you maybe get one stealth kill before the rest of the enemies are onto you anyway. Even the bow sucks because somehow enemies can hear you draw it, and then about the only time arrow retrieval works is if you kill the enemy with a single headshot. Any misses or non-killshots and those arrows are almost always lost. No way to craft arrows either, so unless you're fighting druids arrows are too limited a resource to use the bow as anything but the most backup of backup weapons.

The game is definitely AA eurojank. I'd say it's less polished than a typical Sniper Elite game (but way more so than Resistance when it first released back in January), but also quite a bit more ambitious due to it being one long game instead of a series of missions. I'm at the very end now, and it should be about 20 hours total. I did quite a bit more exploration than necessary, so I can see how Mortym 100%'ed it in more like 15. No major gamebreaking bugs (on PC, anyway... it's still unplayable on Xbox due to the sound issues) or any crashing at all. One time I had to use the console to close the game because I opened my inventory and for some reason it thought I was in the stash instead, and Esc wouldn't close the window, that's it. Using the console "quit" command even autosaved my game at that spot so I didn't lose any progress because of it.

7/10

VAGUE SPOILERS AHEAD

(Edit: After seeing all the endings, make that a 5/10. There isn't a single one that explains anything. The only reveal you get from the game happens about 2/3 of the way through the main plot, and everything after that is just deciding what to do with that information but never learning anything more. Even the telephone ending--which is the only one of the six that could be remotely called "good"--still doesn't answer any of the questions you've had since the very start. I know there's a so-called Story Expansion Pack DLC coming, but DLC should not be required to have a complete story with an actual ending or answers to questions as simple as "Who am I?". That's some bullshit right there, and 100% guaranteed to make me YouTube the real ending when it comes out rather than pay for the DLC.)
