This is a non fiction book by author Eric Schlosser. It's about the nuclear arm's race during the cold war with the USSR, and several just recently declassified incidents we've had in this country and just how close we've come to a nuclear catastrophe. Couldn't put it down. One of the best (and scariest) books I've ever read. I highly recommend it, even if non fiction isn't usually your cup of tea.

I second the rec. I made a short post about it on the What Did you Just Read thread. Doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in non-fiction here though.
