... and then some gigantic faggot over at New Line took charge and decided the only way to sell a horror/thriller movie is to spoil the entire setup. Not just trailer spoilers either, because some people don't watch new trailers once they've already decided to see something -- oh no, we need full-on spoilers in all the plot descriptions and even on the fucking posters, just to be sure.

Not sure why it bothers me so much, since the actual reveal happens like 20 minutes in and the movie itself is majorly let down by a weak final confrontation between Iris and Josh that was way too concerned about hitting the viewer over the head with allegory instead of having a cool action sequence, but still... I guess it was just another unneeded reminder that you can never hate Hollywood people enough.

I just watched this over the weekend, and the very first thing I thought as the movie was progressing was, "Am I not supposed to know this is a sexbot? Because they are playing it like it is a secret in the movie, but the trailers all spilled the beans long ago."

I'm not saying it would have been an amazing movie by any means if they kept it a secret, but you can see how it would have been a lot more subtle and surprising if you had no idea. They did a decent job of making all the stuff seem natural, go to sleep, wake up, can't lie, etc. But when you know already, who cares? I bet the director is secretly pretty pissed about how they ruined it. But I don't really care enough to look either.

5/10 movie, not horrible, I don't hate that I watched it. Chick was pretty good, to be honest, although I'm not sure I've ever seen someone with whiter skin before that wasn't an albino.
