Man that trailer was something. I slept on the first one and didn't play it until it was free on PS+. Once I did though, I was hooked and I couldn't put it down until I finished the game. The one thing that trailer reminded me of was how immersive the music was when you opened up a new and long traversal area. Some of the music tracks were great. Don't know what I want to do now. I might might wait for PC release though since I've built a new PC.

After buying the first game there is no way in hell I am going to buy this one. It's become a total "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" situation. Kojima is cooked, dude's a total wannabe Hollywood hack. Like I bought the first one because of all the hype and the fact that I was a big fan of MGS and wanted to see what his latest game was like. Now that I've played it I know it's just a bunch of hiking simulator bullshit with a very slow grind for it to get interesting and not much of a payoff. It was full of totally bizarre bullshit that felt weird for the sake of being weird and artsy, and no amount of 2deep4u explanations ever managed to make it more appealing for me. It's the type of game where every time I played it I felt like I had to force myself to play it.

I never heard big things about the first one outside of it's announcement and marketing buildup.

Yea, it's niche. I didn't think I was going to like it at all and that's one of the reasons I didn't play until it was on PS+. The game hooked me more than I ever expected. There was just enough story, world building, combat to keep me playing saying one more delivery or lets push to the next bunker to see what happens next with the story and characters.

If it got mod support, it probably would have been one of my favorite games eventually.

game is certainly unique in its gameplay and presentation so far, I am only about an hour in though.

This is a bizarre fucking game on every level, I am like 20 hours in and I am not sure whether or not I like it. I like parts of it but the main gameplay loop of just going back and forth, sometimes over some obnoxious terrain, is starting to wear on me. However, I like boboing MULES and intend to hit one with a piss grenade and another with a shit one. The ghosty parts are interesting and annoying at the same time, the ones where I have to go in and fetch something are good however when a BT zone is between me and my destination I find them annoying.

It's like the anti-elden ring in some ways.

Hope part 2 lets you make bitchin Zip line routes like the first one. My fav part of #1 was creating map spanning routes to zip around.

Recorded this when it launched on PS4. Seriously, fuck the wind farm.

Reminds me of how I felt when I first played it.

Kojima should keep doing weird stuff, we need this kind of AAA production games trying weird stuff. I didn't love Death Stranding but I enjoyed how it was different from other productions. Of course at some point it's a Doordash Simulator with ultra convoluted story, but I don't know, IMO there was a charm to it. I wouldn't recommand this game to anyone, because well, it's too weird.

My take is he's trying his best doing something different, he's not really succeeding at it, but at least he's trying, with AAA budget?

I think wind farm was the only zip line where I had to tweak the route a couple times. Keeping the lines in range while staying out of the farm no-build zone and the BT trigger zones took a couple iterations. IIRC it's really the only non-snow area you can't drive to so zip lines are a must up there.

I guess the alternative is never go back to the first area but if you have any intention of 5 star/100% zip lines are a life saver.
