Plot: Dr. HH Holmes, a cunning serial killer, is believed to have murdered anywhere from 27 to 200 people at a time when the city of Chicago was enthralled with hosting the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893.
The books was A++, as are all of Erik Larsons books. I'm shocked it's taken Hollyweird this long to adapt his material to screen. This was his best book, imo, but In the Garden of Beasts was also A++ as was The Splendid and the Vile (a really interesting look at Churchill during the beginning of WWII). Just finished the Demon of Unrest as well - would highly recommend them all as good summer reading... They are all basically historical accounts of very interesting time periods/character studies written in a way that midwits like me can follow.
