Not at all too early to start thinking about drafts. People are already getting hurt, arrested and injured and camps start soonish.

So here's my current situation, copied from the offseason thread:

I have Bell as a keeper in my keeper league...between this suspension and being on the verge of certified injury prone I'm not sure if I should just drop him. If he gets in trouble again it would be the season right? Guess I'll see if I have anyone else on the roster even worth keeping...

Travis Kelce about the only thing maybe keeper worthy. My other two are Cam and Dez. I guess it probably makes sense to just roll the dice on Bell's upside.

Look at where he's going in mocks a bit later and you may be able to trade him for someone you like better that's being drafted around the same time that he would be.

He's being projected to close to 16 ppg in standard this season....I'd just pick up Deangelo Willliams at some point

Crazy talk getting rid of bell. No you never get rid of the best RB in the NFL. Just need to look deeper in the draft and get solid backups. ivory should be a late steal this year.

I'd take Bell over Peterson this year even with the 4 game suspension, he's a beast but I don't want to be the guy who drafts AD on the year he falls off so I've already told myself I wont be drafting him. I'd draft Gurley over him as well.

PPR its a no brainer Bell, but AP is still a beast in standard but both have had suspensions and injuries. Fuck running backs in general.

I would absolutely go after Antonio Brown or Odell in a PPR league over this shitshow of running backs.

absolutely go WRs in a PPR format. Brown is a pretty clear #1, OBJ and Julio for 2/3. Julio has the size but that foot is always cause for concern and Matt Ryan was rough last year. Julio still did well despite that. All 3 of those top guys have competent and pretty durable QBs throwing to them and none of them have a shutdown defense so they shouldnt abandon the pass game to milk clock a ton

I see the drought start at #4 when you have to start getting into the RBs or really reaching on guys who should be back of the 1st or early 2nd rounders. Right now I like David Johnson the best of them but there is extreme risk with all of them either in too much age or not nearly enough (Elliot has no body of work, DJ has 6-7 good games, Bell is out for 4 most likely, AP is getting a lot of miles on the tires and Gurley has a brand new QB and a horrid offense + defense behind him in addition to a relatively small samples size)

On another note, in our main league we are doing a FAAB (free agent acquisition budget) this year. For any who have done this in the past, what % of the budget do the big rb pickups (dw3, rawles, langford, ware/west, david/chris johnson) go for last year? I would have to assume the right one would be worth north of 80% of the budget as DeAngello Williams was single handedly winning people leagues last year if he was on the wire. We have relaitvely small benches and the scoring favors RBs so there are often a lot of 3rd plave committee guys available and I'm looking for advice to start my planning now.

It's Gurley or Bell at top of my list for RB. If bell sits he'd slide but he does so much. Gurley could very well run for 2K yards this year. I'm not trolling with that.

Also thinking Forte is going to be a really high upside pick this year. He's fell a lot in drafts.

Had my first draft of the year yesterday. Was with all my old Air Force buddies, who unfortunately over the past year have been spread to the far reaches of the globe (England, Japan, Alaska, etc.) so yesterday was the only day prior to the season starting that *everyone* could be available.

Agree on Forte. I think he's a steal at ADP currently. For some reason people always treat him like he's pushing 40 when he's actually younger than AP. I was pretty happy with him last year and a I feel like the Jets are going to make good use of him. Going to try and nab him in both my leagues
