My older brother died yesterday, and he basically has an entire arsenal in his bunker and I have no fucking clue how to legally sell them for the estate.

1. you should have a lawyer for the estate?
2. Go to a gun store that does consignment and let them handle it.. Alternative is to do face to face sales yourself and get transfer of ownership forms.

Are you in a state in which private sales are no big thing? Out here in Wisconsin I don't need a single person's permission to sell a private citizen a firearm. States vary greatly in this. When my father passes I could sell every single firearm he had at at a garage sale and not run afoul of a single law.

ARMSLIST - Firearms Classifieds is pretty good, never been fucked here

If you don't care and just don't want to deal with it there's nothing wrong with going the gun store consignment route but they're going to take a huge, wet bite out of your ass. Put some effort in to selecting one because there are certainly unscrupulous people out there.

edit - old stuff or contemporary? antique firearms have been going to the fucking moon and you aren't going to want to roll up anywhere not having done your own research and just having to trust the person on the other side of the counter to be honest. If you can find a reputable appraiser first, maybe one of your brother's friends that knows his shit, it'll help a lot. If you do decide to have an appraisal remember that you're paying for that person's knowledge and that's it. If they're trying to buy from you while telling you what stuff's worth they're likely going to dick you in the ass.

If you are not familiar, pricing and selling yourself on armslist gun broker etc gonna be a nightmare I think. What state? Get into our access limited gun section on the site here and you can probably get a lot of help w/ identifying/price depending on how many is an arsenal and how old.

If your lucky and willing, if some of us in the area might be willing to assist in person.

Sorry for your loss.

Goto the FOH gun thread they will ID and most likely buy em all

I think it varies per state a lot.. but FL private party is “here is $” - “here is gun” - “thanks”

Edit- you usually do a bill of sale for a paper trail to CYA
