So about five to seven years ago, I noticed a small bump on my chest right above my stomach but below my ribs.
I've ignored it thinking it was just a cyst, as I was only 23 at the time.

It doesn't portrude much from my skin because it's deep. I could only notice it by moving my hand over my skin, and squeezing. There's no discoloration, but it's there.

Now that I'm 30, it's starting to scare me. I'd say it's slightly smaller than an inch wide now. It doesn't move.
It's pretty hard, but not like a rock.

There are possibly more of them, I'm not sure. A picture would be useless because you can't really see it even though it's so large. My skin goes from being soft, to being hard and you see it slightly portrude from the surrounding area.

How scared should I be or how fucked am I? If it was a cyst, I can't imagine it getting so large. Plus, looking at them on youtube they're more like pimples that you can pop. This is pretty deep.

Looks like this, but smaller and in the middle of my chest. Uh oh.

"Slow growing painless mass."

Yeah. Apparently it can be malignant or benign? You can have benign cancer? Is that cancer that doesn't spread?

I have an appointment scheduled. First time, it got pushed back because of some bullshit. Second time, the Dr. decided to take the day off.

Let's speculate until I can get in on Monday?

Benign means the tumor respects the sourrunding tissue, highly differentiated f.inst., non-invasive, non-metastasizing. Main problem being it still grows, mass effect.

See your GP. Get an opinion. Then see a specialist if apropriate.

Correlating symptoms? B-symptoms? Weigh loss? General malaise? Bleedings from orifices?
Family history? Priors? Medication? Physical exam?

Pending above I'm thinking bloodworks, CT and maybe cyto/histo depending on radiological extent. Might just be a cyst, might not be.

None. I've gained a lot of weight actually.

You can hope and pray that it's a 7year old ingrown hair that's been growing and coiling around all these years and the growth is the build up of dead white blood cells fighting off the ingrow hair which has become a foreign invader.

All joking aside best of luck. You can't search for masses under the skin with out a lot of terrible results.

Go to a doctor and fucking find out.

This.

It could be a benign tumor. There are other options which are equally possible.

Cancer doesn't hurt until it's too late to do anything about it. That doesn't mean it's cancer. I dunno what the fuck it is, but you need to find out.

I had a big lump in the side my neck i let go for a while in my early 20s. It didnt really bother me, it was just there and kind of hard. Turned out it was a cyst from messed up sinus drainage or something. After they took it out, they said it was the size of a grapefruit. Go to the doctor.

Most likely a cyst or something like a lipoma. These things are unbelievably common and can pop up in or on any part of your body for who the hell knows what reason. But yeah, go see a doctor just in case it's actually something serious.

Unless somebody fucked you in the chest and it's syphilis, it sounds benign, so go ask your doctor.

My boil was golf ball sized and hard as a rock until it popped. A couple years later now and the skin there is rock solid and feels like an elephant hide
