I don't make any money on the fee. I charge exactly, to the penny, what it costs me to get the checks done. (They do include credit, background, criminal and rental history checks)

I rent a bedroom/bath for like 400 bucks a month with a shared kitchen with another dude. Works pretty well but we basically stay to ourselves and are friendly and can bullshit when we interact and stuff. Never had a problem in a couple years.

This thread is good stuff. I'll have more to add soon, because I'm probably going to be renting a studio apartment, or trying to find another living situation for 6 months, while I wait for my current job to end.
