Only watched the first episode, but wasn't too impressed.

Seyfried's whole shtick of staring off into space reliving memories gets ridiculous fast. It's every other scene. Every character around her should just constantly be like "HELLOOOOOO MCFLY?!?!? MCFLYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!"

Not too invested in the murder mystery as it's pretty hard to care about the fentanyl zombie victims. Even the partner quipped "uhhh maybe it's actually better they get taken off the street..." which is kinda cold, sure, but honestly better for the neighborhood and the city as a whole.

I will report back after I finish the season.

I finished it. It was not good.

Seyfreid can act well, but her character in this was just so ridiculously naive and stubborn it alienated me from getting invested in her.
The kid was also well-acted, but that subplot just didn't have any stakes... it's very clear that what happened was the best outcome for the kid, and there is zero argument otherwise. Trying to avoid spoilers here, so sorry if that is ambiguous.
The sister could not possibly BE more unlikable or unsympathetic.
Ending was cliched and predictable for who the killer was. Red herring near the end was too farfetched to be believable for even a second.
Atmosphere was very realistic. I sure as fuck would not want to live in Philly.

In the end, this is a show more about family drama and how drug addiction rips people apart and destroys lives. If you want to watch a drama about that, go for it. I'd put it about on par with Mare of Easttown. But if you want a smartly written whodunnit, this just doesn't meet the bar.
