I watch a lot of cave diving and mountain climbing disaster videos on YouTube so this topic really interests me.
Causes of death are:
1) Human error
2) Equipment malfunction
3) Unexpected envionmental issue
4) Inexperience
Really each extreme sport just has a different chance and fatality rate for each factor, so it's difficult to compare.
Dearh zone mountaing climbing on the 14 >8000m mountains should be in the list, given thst some of those mountains have moderate double digit fatality rates.
