Oof. So they're concerned the patch notes are so big and so negative it would drive people away. They want people either playing or committed to playing before reading them.

Concerning and this is a trend that's been way before poe2, and I'm not talking about patch notes release. I'm talking about their unwillingness to take risks on the meta. Poe used to switch up metas almost every league or at least one league per year would be the "balance" patch. But they stopped doing that I think around 3.17ish.

While it's not a huge deal it does hint that company is more risk adverse and I think what made GGG so great through the years was their willingness to take risks. They seem to have settled more into a more rigid design philosophy.

Also it's beta who gives a fuck what you nerf the patch cycles should be 1 month at most cmon.

This machiavellian bastard is going to force you to play this piece of shit lazy game for another 500 hours.

It can't be that they are struggling to make deadlines due to the ambition of the project, it must be an evil plot.

The large majority of the PoE2(and PoE1 if we're being honest) does not "explore" the game. They follow build guides. But I bet the sweaty nerds that write those guides would appreciate a bit more help than GGG seems willing to give.

4/4 cutting it too close or something vindictive going on?

That would be great about the 500 hours. It wasn't anywhere near that for launch but we'll see.

It's not like they don't make big decisions based on this kind of shit.

They stopped treating early access as early access right away. Withholding the information they've always provided in the past (patch notes and gem information) fits right in with this new vision. It might impact the game negatively if people have the full information before they're playing so don't give it to them.

I think this is actually pretty cool. Just wish the support gem UI itself was less shit so it'd be easier to look at everything. Wonder if they even updated the "recommended" tabs for these new supports.

The post by Jonathan about treating it as in-league rather than early access is exactly why only small QoL has happened. Look up posts from December 12th when the CoF nerf hit. The sky was falling. People were "quitting" a week in. This is what happens when you listen to the masses. Chris just did shit and then told you why he did shit later. That was better, IMO. Develop your game for your game, not for the 5,000 angry Redditors/"content creators" pulling the game in 6 different directions.

I resemble that remark, even after more than a decade of playing bahahahaha!
