Actor Gene Hackman’s German shepherd was found deceased in a bathroom closet about 15 feet from his wife’s “mummified” body, according to new reports.

pills were found scattered around near the body of Hackman’s wife, Betsy Arakawa.

Deputies say Arakawa had “obvious signs of de*th, body decomposition, bloating in her face and mummification in both hands and feet.” Hackman’s body was located in the mudroom and appeared that he had “suddenly fallen.”

this is sus as fuck, you don't decide to suicide and then drop all the pills around in a hollywood to say "look i took pills to die, nothing more to see"

You also wouldn't be a dick and shut your dog in a closet either.

Sheriff Adam Mendoza shared at a press conference Friday afternoon. In a statement, Mendoza stated that both Hackman and Arakawa’s bodies tested negative for carbon monoxide poisoning.

The sheriff also disclosed that Hackman’s pacemaker recorded its “last event” on Feb. 17, meaning that it is currently assumed that that is the date that the actor died. Mendoza said there remains uncertainty over the order of the couple’s deaths.

A German Shepherd was also discovered in a bathroom closet, near Arakawa’s body. Two healthy dogs remained on the property and the county Animal Control Division was summoned to ensure their safety, per the Sheriff’s Office.

so just kill that one annoying dog

If you're going to attempt to stage a murder suicide. Leave the fucking dog out of it. I was kinda sad about his passing, great actor but now.... Killing the dog. Fuck him, someone cast Resurrection on this fuck and kill him again. It's a good thing that doesn't exist because I would farm this asshole.

kinda crazy story but makes sense when you consider he had alzheimers. It makes me sad thinking that he wandered around in house for a week around his dead wife and with his alzheimers he might not really have understood what was happening

Hackman died of cardiovascular disease, with Alzheimer’s disease as a significant contributing factor, said Heather Jarrell, the chief medical examiner for the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator.

Arakawa likely died about a week earlier, on Feb. 11, of hantavirus, a potentially fatal virus transmitted by mice. Both deaths fall under natural causes, which can include heart disease, stroke, cancer, respiratory failure, infections and age-related complications.

Hackman’s pacemaker registered cardiac activity on Feb. 17. On Feb. 18, the pacemaker picked up an abnormal rhythm, which was the last recording, suggesting that he died that day.
