Yep, it's a true evergreen if you ask me. I always joke the day they decide to make a reboot I'll buy a one way ticket to Hollywood.

Drive (2011) - 8.5/10. I somehow missed this movie and just assumed it was some gay shit but watched it this weekend and really enjoyed it. Ryan Gosling, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, Carey Mulligan and directed by Nicolas Refn who has done some super weird shit in the last few years (Copenhagen). Mostly about a weird dude who really, really likes cars but gets hyper violent when mexicans try to take away his tacos. Great ambient soundscape.

Pretty solid sound track too. It's got some bangers.

A bit dated, but still a well done movie and holds up. Mostly shot at night which adds something to the paranoia. Worth watching if you have never seen it.

Romeo is bleeding - 8/10 I watch this every couple of years. I get why a lot of people didn't like but Lena Olin is just so good in it. Gary Oldman is fine as the main character, a corrupt cop who is in over his head. I generally don't like movies that have narration, and this movie could have done with a rewrite or something. Even with all of that it's still a guild pleasure for me.

This is a great movie. When
Southerland points at the guy it still gives me goosebumps

The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
It has zero depth, zero emotions, the fight scenes were poorly done, we don't care for any of the cast. Vilain sucked, the scene with the merovingian was cringeworthy.
1/10

Oscar Issac and Albert Brooks too. The cast is really pretty insane, considering how much some of them blew up.

That opening scene in L.A. when Kavinsky hits is *chef's kiss*.

The unbearable lightness of being. Lena Olin. And Juliette Binoche. Still makes my pecker jerk. Also fork in the eye crazy scene is unforgetable.

Watched the one and only original Blade. Still holds up, some motherfuckers are still trying to ice skate up hill! 10/10 would bang.

The Martian.

Not a 1:1 with the book and while it has that kind of building tenseness to it, it definitely falls short of the written word. 8.5/10

Today is the anniversary of the beginning of the reign of Richard the Third and that reminded me of a movie I watched a couple of weeks ago on Acorn TV called 'The Lost King'. It's about a woman named Philippa Langley and her devotion and work to find the remains of King Richard III. It's a bit of a self-promo for the lady who paints herself as a woman surrounded by both men who don't take her seriously and corporations that want to muscle in on the glory after the work is done, but none the less, I thought it was well done and if you don't know anything about Richard III and the discovery of his remains, it's a good watch. There are documentaries out there chronicling the same event but the ones I've seen are very dry. This is much more filled out and much more engaging to watch. A solid 8 out of 10.
