I'm having trouble justifying an extra $100 for the Nexus 5 over the S4, if I'm sticking with my current carrier anyways.

If you don't mind touchwiz you're crazy for not getting a note 3. All day usage on LTE starting at 7 am and I still have 68% battery at 6:35.

Don't use an upgrade directly on your line. Transferring a phone onto your line is fine.

Few months ago I bought an unlimited line for 280$ from a coworker. It had an upgrade available which I did as an "alternate upgrade" onto another junk line on the account. Activated the phone on that line and then transferred it back onto my main line.

For record, I upgraded a phone for a woman who did an iPhone 5S online and currently has Unlimited Data on VZW. It still showed her old device on the account and when I scanned in the new device the Unlimited Data still existed. Normally, I would question such a thing but I was miserable and fending off a migraine, so I let it go. Odds are good you'll keep yer Unlimited Data...

I have unlimited data on ATT and my wife doesn't. I wanted to use her upgrade for my line but wanted to buy the phone online from Amazon. The guy at the ATT store told me to just buy the phone but not activate it and bring it into the store and they would take care of the transfer prior to activation.

Not sure what you mean by "Guy at the store said I couldn't upgrade at the store and not fuck anything up" because grammar.

Verizon is different, its CDMA for your primary stuff (voice, 3g and phone itself - aka MEID HEXID etc)- the sim card is just the 4g LTE- and yes they can fuck up the sim card association quite bad at Verizon. If your phone can unactivated, your sim will be activated- in sense that it is linked to that phone number and if you put it in another phone that is activated that does not match it will be all sorts of jacked up- and there will be hours on hold with tech support getting the LTE-Parts figured out and swapped properly. Usualy if the line your upgrading was 4g before, they want you to keep that SIM and when they swap/activate the new phone to go from OLDphone to NEWphone the associated sim from OLD will go to NEW automatically... so if you got the new one unactivated and the new one is also getting a sim it may get tricky...

Yeah, I was hoping for $299 at most, and maybe get pleasantly surprised with a $249 or something crazy like that. At $350, seems like I'll be going Note 3.

Snagged a Note 3 over lunch, really liking it so far. It's basically a gigantic S4, which is what I was expecting/hoping for, as I really liked that phone.

I love my Note 3 so far. But again, I had an S3 and there really isn't much of a difference except the screen size and upgraded software.

I love my S3. Yeah its a model old now. But when I went in the verizon store they had a deal on an S3 for $50 or S4 for $200. It was a no brainier. Its not like Im doing scientific computations on the thing. I run Puzzles and Dragons and once in a while watch a video.

Can one download stock keyboard? I like the simple keyboard on my nexus 10. The keyboard on a nexus 4 or s4 bugs me. I want to get note 3 but the keyboard, being such a big use item - I want to make sure I like it

Yes, Google made is available a while back. It's in the Play store.
