Probably will skip just not to tarnish my love for the original. I already don't like that it's alternate history.more meta interested in seeing how TV shows developed now are different from great shows from 2010. The show had tons of violence, nudity (men and women), swearing, and just over the top everything with really not much to say except "fuck the rich".
shows nowadays try to cram in odd edgelord politics and i wonder if there will be any nudity (or just dick and balls)
It's gonna be tons of dude wang and almost zero titties. So thankful for #metoo.
He did give us naked Lucy Lawless after all.Maybe. The Robert Taipert loved titties in films (he added the random topless chick in army of darkness for no other reason and got them an R rating just for that lol) and was a big force behind that in Spartacus.
What year did Army of Darkness come out? What about the OG Spartacus? #metoo really kicked off around 2017.Maybe. Lots of dude wang and ass.
Along with Tarabay, the cast will include Graham McTavish as Korris, Ashur's Doctore, and Tenika Davis as Achillia, a fierce gladiatrix. A fierce gladiatrix.
Wait a minute, was that last clip a black chick fighting a grown man in h2h combat?
So the new Spartacus has a vagine?
Yeah, this is looking dumb as fuck.
So they are calling this "Spartacus" and naming her "Achillia" stealing the names of two powerful historic men for this bullshit. Funny, the Greeks and Romans wrote down a lot of shit. I don't recall any powerful gladiatrix being written about in 4,000 years of recorded history.
I actually don't consider it to be gratuitous. They built the whole world and style around that level of nudity and sex so it fit the narative. compare it to game of thrones where they would have important dialogue scene done in a brothel so they could have nudity in the background.I give the writers and the actor credit - they did an outstanding job making everyone- in world and out - absolutely hate, loathe and despise Ashur.
So by that, an odd choice to kick off a separate thing with him.
The original - with its ultra sex and violence was done actually well- was it a lot- yeah, was it gratuitous - yeah, did they apologize - no, the only gripe you could give was they obviously used merkins for the ladies all the time past s1 vs not always. The dial to 11 was fitting in its world, and that was part of it - even the plot and scheming was 11, it all jived once they got their cgi blood down after the pilot and first few episodes
