I did a little reading. Apparently there are essentially two separate game modes that don't interact with each other at all.

One is the typical gacha grind with an asymetrical pvp arena and other stuff and the other is a solo story mode that doesn't have any gacha element and is F2P

Might be worth it just for that if the story doesn't suck.

The story is going to suck with endless dialouge.

Downloading it now though.

Got flag girl on 3rd pull, pretty cool effect on the flag, especially when jumping into the sky and lauching it at people.

Game seems fine, has all the copy/paste systems other gatcha RPGs have.

Can't see myself playing it past a week.

It's held my attention longer than most, I'm sick to death of raid shadow legends.

Seems like legendary chances are awfully high, seeing as I have 5 legendaries within 40-50 pulls.

i like fftactics so i thought i'd try it.I'm not sure what's good. My homie advising me to keep trying rerolling till i get an epic one before i really start. tho i started up on steam and i think t he chat on the steam discussions says you can't reroll on s team without a lockout timer?

I pulled:

I wouldn't worry too much about epics, you get a lot of them with pulls.

You get Maitha and Faycal for free, maybe more, I haven't done any of the story mode non gacha system to see what else you can get as rewards.

Legendary pulls are definitely better than any other gacha game I've played, I've spent $0.

Most important is to just play, voyager xp is based on energy spent, so the earlier you get started the better off you'll be.

Interesting how very different our epic pulls are. I'll put me legendary u up in a bit. I don't feel this game will last me long as i hate gacha and won't pay pig.

yea i'm not a gatcha enjoyer but they seem to have like 9 'quest lists' and things to do and stage bonuses. and if i do enjoy it, i could see myself buying a pack on ultra discount once a month for more pulls here and there.

I'm not averse to spending money on a game, but having a mix of earn-able and pay to speed that up is more something i can get onboard with. and i'm a massive fan of dudes moving in squares fighting other dudes and pushing folk around. very fun game play that i wish took off more.

So I just saw a trailer for this maybe 20min before seeing this post.

Tactics games are my fav genre. And all I can think when I see this is. Omg I wish it was a real game.

It's such a shame. It looks so good too. I can't wrap my head around why cellphone game. And gotcha as a whole is just perverse.

But is it any good you guys think?

it has a little story mode that isn't as gatcha infested is my understanding. i am on steam and it's apparently a nightmare to "reroll" to get a perfect hero set so i said fuckit and i'm just staying at it. my kid loves the characters i pulled heh.

I'll say that they seem to reward you enough in game to perpetuate game play pretty good without microing SO FAR. but i'm not far in, like level 10

It's alright I think for a few weeks to months distraction if you are the type that can fuck w/ your phone at work etc. Not as a am I playing this or witcher 3 kinda question.

I was thinking it was a bit shallow but once you start opening up character talents, etc then it starts to go back to kinda some overwhelming choices.

Controls a bit clunky at times, wish I could choose facing at end of turn, wish in generaly everything got 1 more movement point, hate that you can be adjacent diagonal to something and can't hit it w/ melee.

I've started playing the "spiral" which is a mode where you are in the world doing a story with this or that choices. it kind of plays (in combat) like FFtactics, but it's "like xcom" in that you have an army that puts out teams that fight, does a selection of missions "per turn" and then the guys who go get exausted (and are exausted longer if knocked out). and you side line them to train them to rest, train, (for more skills or xp) or to escort caravans or whatever. This mode has been pretty dang fun so far but i'm only like 10 t urns in. you develop your little town and choose "one of three" skills when your guy trains or gets a skill gain in the field. so it seems to be profoundly replayable. pretty cool and novel for a gatcha game.

it is, however buried behind the obtuse game design of 1. a gatcha game (12 kinds of crystals and 90 percent value!) . 2. an asian studio who has to reivent every wheel, and 3. a fucking mobile game. You have to progress the story until you get to the point that you unlock the spiral to play it. you do have 'some input' on the gatcha because you can bring a rare character in (you can pick so many of your main roster to bring into the story mode), but they start at level 1 without all the gear and shit from the main mode. so it's still a climb of them gaining xp and gear.

i also saw that the units come in factions, one of them is "the union" which is like a union of knightly assholes. the units will have a thing that says like "buff your homie to deal +damage" with a tag saying "if that unit is a union unit, it also gets +2 movement". so it seems like above and beyond FF tactics, you can build a squad for interesting synergy.

People don't change job. so wizard is always a wizard.

Need to decide which banner to blow 40 summons. Not sure if super healer girl matters enough over my basic bitch, or going for one of the 2 murder twins.
