I really want to like this. I do. But it's awful and I'm done. It has great cinematic qualities of a Western but all of the characters are shitbags and it doesn't really make sense. The Sheriff is legitimately an outlaw parading as a sheriff. Okay fine, I guess? The bounty hunter is also insane but why the Sheriff is on his shit makes zero sense because the Sheriff isn't really trying to enforce the law. He's just trying to find an easy way out for a bunch of money he stole.
Okay, that is also fine I guess but then why are random farmers also serial killers? The only people in the entire show with clear motives are the robber baron who is actually quite considerate and forgiving when he is usually the asshole in most Westerns. The average joe farmer characters are so far a serial killer and a guy who just pretends to be an average farmer but is actually sitting on knowledge of the gold that the landowner robber baron has been looking for. Not like, lost treasure but a gold vein that he wants to mine and suspects is in the area.
The two main characters the Sheriff and the Bounty Hunter who are at odds with eachother have no reason to other than some amount of the Sheriff just disliking him on principal. Or something.
It's like they tried to be clever and subvert all the Western character archetypes they're just shit at it and not clever at all.
