Great, another series I'll have to watch. Netflix has been a really strong content creator the past few years. If all the premium channels start offering their content without a tv box ala HBO I may just cut the cord permanently soon. Stand alone internet + a channel or two each month + netflix and amazon prime and I'm good to go.

Something like this has needed to happen for so long. I wish it would have happened sooner but I'm glad it's taken long enough for an outlet like Netflix to be able to take it on rather than one of the networks. I just hope that a) it's good enough to be worthy of the original and b) is able to connect to a broad enough audience to get a decent run. That's the problem with an old property like this. I don't know if it can grab the imaginations of those who weren't around when the movie came out.

The dark crystal scared the shit out of me as a child, those puppets...

This looks pretty sweet, Netflix is a great home for this.

This is probably my favorite movie from childhood. There is no possible way for me to temper my excitement or expectations for this series.

I'm warning you all now that I will probably be an insufferable, assholish fangirl about everything involved in this series and will most likely defend it irrationally even if it turns out to be decidedly mediocre.

Yeah The Dark Crystal is way up on my list of favorite childhood movies, even named an EQ character Aughra. Had no idea this was going to be a thing but am very excited.

Cautiously optimistic. I don't know if this will live up to my childhood memories of The Dark Crystal, but Netflix getting this give me hope that it will be done right.
