Releases today "early" if you pay for the deluxe edition. Standard edition comes out on the 27th. Demo been out a while. Didn't find a thread? Feel free to merge if there is one. Embargo ended a few minutes ago.

So far, mostly 10-8 though not many reviews are out yet.

Elajjaz is streaming it now.

Watched a couple of reviews, both gave it 9-10, sounds like a LOT of nice QoL aspects to the game systems, with a worthwhile NG+.

Looks really nice. ~70-80 hours to complete "true ending", difficulty really ramps up by mid game (but can change difficulty/npc summons), easy respec and other good QoL, can repeat fights, nothing missable which is huge for me as I hate that shit.

Devs yappin about stuff.

I bought deluxe, fired it up at lunch for 30 mins or so and really enjoyed it. Parries/perfect blocks are more like Sekiro or Lies of P, without the delay that fucks up my timing in Dark souls games. Now just have to finish work to get back to it.

Not exactly. It's more forgiving than P.

In this game parrying doesn't need to be perfect to prevent all damage.

Lies of P could be difficult to really practice and get timing down on bosses because of how fast you could die from normal parry and missing a perfect parry.

Berserk took the P system except added 100% damage reduction to normal parry AFAIK. Let's players have more uptime to learn timing and more time in battle than just soaking massive damage from missing a perfect parry.

I think it's an improvement over the P system.

I played the demo when trying out my new system and it wasn't bad. Agree that the parry is way more forgiving than P or Sekiro. Demo was interesting enough, not sure if it is a full price buy or just a wait and see / sale type thing.

j/k. Thought about that for 10 seconds and came back to edit post. 99.9% of everything is not worth full price. Will just wait for a sale.

I need to retrain myself to hold parry a little longer then, to avoid damage. I just mash the button and take the hit if I miss the perfect

I dislike stamina based games, tbh, but I like everything else about the game. So I'm torn.

First main boss after demo stuff seems to be giving a lot of people troubles. Multi-phase bosses are meh.

Bought it. Got to the fifth boss, think I've died ~30ish times while progressing my way there. Been using spear, no idea what build to do or where to dump points just health/sta so far. Coming off of Wukong where I breezed through with like 30 deaths for the entire game I'm definitely feeling the difficulty in this one. Very punishing if you mess up/get greedy, but combat feels good.

There are multiple forms of damage negation and their "brink" aka perfect versions. Dodge is dodge. Guard which is essentially this games parry and is indeed very forgiving. Reflection (actual parry) works like Dark Souls, is not forgiving and does not appear to work on a variety of incoming attacks, but there are points you can spend on it to make it easier for the attacks it does work on which I have not done as of yet. Lastly counterattack for when you see a symbol pop up that says you're going to get pooped on which negates damage and stuns is also pretty forgiving timing wise.

That boss fight p2 was actual cinema. My favorite so far.

It is very build dependent and this is the first souls like that has a big sword that fucking sucks, change my mind.

It is slow and has no upside, the stagger isn’t worth it, the damage is mediocre. Maybe end game build will make them good but no unga bunga for me.

Out today for real. I've got ~21 hours in and the game still going strong with great fights and unlocks.

My one major gripe is the travel hub. Neat looking but becomes an annoyance with everything being mission based. Why must I run around so much to repeat the same mission?

Really feel like that is their only major miss with so many other QoL features being available.

I read they nerfed two bosses people were stuck on which is a real shame as they weren't that bad (skill check to make sure you use your shit properly) and you suffer worse on other bosses imo.

Sword is actually really nice though it comes at the cost of needing the deeper talent points to bust out quick charges and combos. Now that I've got the ability to try out all the talents all 3 weapons seem surprisingly well balanced and can fit in multiple play styles.

This game feels really, really Korean. I don't think I can handle it, based on the demo. Painfully Korean.

Awesome game. Challenging but fair. Movement feels fantastic and these bosses are something else. One of the best soulslike games I've played.
