What the fuck? This is the worst remake of every of the remakes of ever.

Why not just call it "Definitely not Woke Kingpin"

Paul Reiser has fallen on hard times.

What he said. Holy shit this looks fucking terrible. And a direct ripoff, without the whole "Munsoned" thing because of course you can't completely shit all over a black character like you could with Woody's.

And since I'm here, slight rant time. You know what rustles my jimmies something fierce? When a movie about bowling has some of the WORST fucking bowling ever. Kingpin did it too. As someone that can bowl pretty well, it triggers me to no end. You would think that someone, somewhere on the crew would be able to AT LEAST throw the ball on the correct side of the headpin for the action shots. There are so many Brooklyn strikes, near splits, etc. in these fucking movies that it drives me insane. Kingpin is a wonderful movie, and I've rewatched it countless times, but if they had just gotten anyone with a modicum of bowling skill to throw a few balls it would have been a perfect movie. I mean fuck, they have people practice with swords and shit for movies so they look at least somewhat competent...how about giving them an hour or two of bowling lessons??

For some reason, the lack of bowling ability in bowling movies has never bothered me. I notice it, but I get more annoyed watching someone like Jakob Butturff in real life...imagine if the actors had an approach/release like him. I guess that's why it doesn't annoy me too much...people with worse forms have won on tour.

I do remember a few years ago at my alley that there was a flyer for someone filming a movie looking for someone that could basically strike on command. I think that might have been around the time I was considering shoulder surgery, so I didn't follow up on it, so no idea what movie it was for.

No idea who that guy is, but I don't mind their form, they can do whatever they want. Hell, I grew up doing 5-step approach and everyone kept trying to get me to do 3-step in college, teams, etc. Bitch, I averaged close to 200, how about you leave me alone?

No, the rustle part is that they show the ball never hitting the fucking pocket and everyone cheering for it. Whenever I got a ball outside the pocket I was contorting my body (because it helps steer the ball, duh) and pleading for it not to be a split. I never turned around and pumped my fist like I planned it that way; everyone on both teams knew it was fucking luck, not a good throw. For a movie about pros to have the majority of the strikes be something I'd be embarrassed of claiming as my own is just retarded.

That's weird, because the standard for a long time has been either a 4 or 5-step approach. I usually only see 3 when someone is standing in front of the ball return because they've had to move super far left late in a tournament.

Yes, I know I've seen some shots in those movies where I assume they have a mechanic in the back knocking the pins down because the shot was so straight and light that there's no way it would have carried. I don't know if it would bother me less if I saw them launching the ball, then cutting to a different shot thrown by someone that can actually roll it right. It would probably still take me out of the moment knowing that there's no way the actor is throwing it like that. Maybe it would bother me more if it was a biopic of Earl Anthony or something, but I guess I can't get too worked up about a comedy.
