Terrence Malick sure doesn't rush things, but this is kind of a record even for him. The movie's principal photography was completed in 2019. Since then, he has been in the editing process, which still isn't finished due to the massive amount of footage he shot—around 3,000 hours.
In comparison, The Thin Red Line had about 185–200 hours of raw footage. Also, the scenery and environment often take a more prominent role than the actors in his editing process, with actors often having their parts reduced in the final cut. Adrian Brody's part was reduced to nothing, and he found that out at the junket just before the premiere.

First time ever once a thin Red line was with my dad when I had gone down to his house some weekend during college. We had barbecued all afternoon and then him sat down and watched it.

He didn't particularly care for it, and I don't believe I quite understood the time. Was this back late 90s or early 2000s?

It's on Amazon or at least one of the stupid channels my wife subscribes to, and I really watched it not too long ago.

It's honestly a wonderful film. I'm actually in the process of watching it again because I'm trying to treat it like a book, sometimes you need a little bit more time digesting something, if that makes any sense.

It's a really good film though, and compared to your average movie that comes out with that type of cast, and similar budget, it's a goddamn masterpiece.

It's a really God damn good movie. Watch it if you can, but Hamburger Hill still far superior.
