not necessarily, he never faced Clubber before. Rocky might have rocked his world. it would be expected because Rocky was known for his amazing endurance. Clubber was not an endurance fighter. as Rocky proved by staying out of his way and letting Clubber tire himself out. it wasnt eye of the tiger that beat Clubber. it was Clubber going beast mode from the gate and being exhausted by the third round. Rocky just taunted him to keep him in beast mode til he pooped out.

it can be argued that Rocky only lost the first fight with Clubber because he wanted to take down Clubber quickly so he could be with Mickey. if Rocky had just paced himself, not gone toe to toe with Clubber he would have had a better chance at winning that fight

Mickey thought Rocky would lose to Clubber. that doesnt mean anything. he thought Apollo would beat Rocky the first and second time. Mickey isnt known for his confidence in Rocky's ability as a fighter. what is a known entity is Rocky not knowing when to give up. Rocky would have dogged Clubber til Rocky was unconscious or dead.

Rocky was a much much better boxer than Lang, which is why he shit stomped him so hard in the rematch. The "eye of the tiger" and "being hungry" is something only Mickey even thought was a thing at that point.

This flailing is pathetic. Just accept you lost and go away. Did you miss the part where Rocky beat Apollo Creed? Remember him? The guy you actually thought Rocky fought in Rocky 3? Nobody had even lasted 12 rounds against Creed and then Rocky beat him. That's the biggest part of his reputation and that's not "a lie". Then Rocky beats the next 10 challengers.
You're basing everything on:
1. Your ignorance in sports and boxing
2. You thinking a challenger telling the champion he's better than him or a private conversation between a manager and a boxer will somehow change public opinion.
Champions are always accused of "ducking" certain fights, especially by the challengers wanting the fights. You don't know anything about boxing so you think this is some crazy new situation and Clubber saying this is going to send shockwaves through the world. You have the announcers telling you it was an upset, you have people who guess betting lines for a living trying to decide if Rocky's a -700 or -550 favorite.

i used to follow boxing and i have heard arguments that rankings are highly subjective and can be manipulated due to corruption or politics. for instance you could be the top fighter, but somehow be ranked third or lower depending on a certain fight you had that wasnt sanctioned by the committee. its been a long time, but rankings dont always mean you're the best if you're number 1.
Buster Douglas was ranked #7 and wrecked Tyson's shit who at the time was undefeated.
