it was already remade and it sucked balls. why it failed was it missed the point of the first movie. a kid who has very little going for them. is considered the lowest piece of shit in the school. someone who all the kids dump on on a daily basis. but the kid has this power and just when they think they can fit in. gets taken away and shown that they were just being trolled. then the power gets unleashed in an orgy of revenge. the first remake didnt focus well on how badly carrie was treated and she wasnt as ugly as spacek looked in the role. this one looks like they made the same mistake. chloe is too pretty for the role. carrie can be remade, but they need to remember the spirit in which it was made.

i think the problem is they dont cast ugly actors anymore and they are scared to realistically show how bad kids could be bullied in school and they dont want to be held responsible for the revenge scenes because it might get linked to another columbine. they just dont make movies like that anymore. look at kickass 2. oh noesw hitgirl didnt fit in with the 3 most popular girls. her life is over. yeah not very impressive.

yeah. this looks terrible. didnt need to be remade. Too pretty as noted. The movie will likely completely fail to give us a real reason for the character to have a massive emotional breakdown.
And this did also get another remake recently that did the job pretty effectively. Largely because it did take into consideration modern times and similar stories like Akira and xmen when rewriting it.

Which is the final problem with remaking Carrie. even if you ARE a complete fuckup, horribly scarred emotionally. no one is going to call you a witch in 2013. everyone would lose their shit on how AWESOME your super powers are and call you an xman. It completely changes how the movie/story must play out in this decade.
