Where are all the MMORPG games? lol

AoC is "play to crush", right? Player-built cities, with other players being able to raid them? I give it two years tops before it has to close due to lack of players.

    Cloning Problem

A clone is basically a twin brother/sister, just born later. Now, copy errors do accumulate over time; each person is born with about 50 differences that aren't in the starting DNA of their parents. That sounds a lot, but you have 4 billion bases, 50 errors over 4 billions is peanuts, unless...

Where are all the MMORPG games? lol

There are plenty of MMOs. Almost all made in Asia; they launch, their population crash two weeks later and they close after two to three years. Most of the time, they don't even bother with a worldwide launch.

Oh, it's not fun and interesting though. Most F2P/Gacha games today simply create a problem, and then sell you the solution. And it usually works. If I were to transition WoW into a F2P game, I would have you be able to complete only 5 daily quests, with one additional unlocking every hour...

Trading was nerfed between press release and early access, I think. Some of the streamers had tens of thousands of regional wealth from trade extremely quickly, producing planks (entirely renewable) and importing everything instead of producing it. There is a reason there is an entire...

Yea, he was stuck in a direction he didn't like with Dawn of the Void, so he decided to cut it short and wrap it up. He also has Skadi's Saga, which was a fantasy viking series that didn't get much traction, so I don't think he finished it, and the most recent one is Thrones of the Fallen...

The solution to that one is small markets. Forget the 25 stall market: create small markets with a dozen stalls only, and add new markets only when it starts getting full. For the remote stall workers, there's no solution except temporarily removing the family from their work place (if they're...

    Manor lords

Note that it is extremely early access. More than 2/3rd of the tech tree isn't there, there is one map, localization is missing all over the place. But it's extremely fun to walk around in your village, notably when the men just come back from bandit hunting and all head back to work or home...

Throne and Liberty (Formerly Project TL)

Isn't that a common thing in mobile RPGs, though? TL was initially designed as mobile gacha, if I remember right, and that's a common theme there: collect characters, switch between your "team" as needs must.

    Robert Jackson Bennett

The Founders trilogy is truly an epic work, but what struck me is the last one, which is one of the handful of novels that attempt to depict the slow slide of human society into a post-human society. You do get a sense of how a society that works on a completely different paradigm than the ones...

They've improved significantly the automation while you're "not there", so this may impact the multiplayer aspect. My main concern remains the breeding ranch, which is usually dropping pals to zero after a time - they don't go to the sleeping beds, they don't seem to go eat, they just fuck...

    RIP Vernor Vinge

A Fire Upon the Deep is the paperback I had to buy twice (because the previous fell apart). Riot Games MMO

Gacha-loaded games aren't what I'm looking for in a MMO, but you do what you do. That aside, you're partially right. 1) Take an open world - which they already have, developped and full of lore ready to implement. 2) Make a shit-ton of dungeons, raids and open-world bosses 3) Put classes that...
