    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

That was a quick Google search, but you can take any footage of the game, post release, and see the same things. Only Nintendo fans think 720p, no AA is acceptable anymore. XBR49X900E is in my bedroom and has the highest rating of any tv in its class, it's also the worst tv I own, so all the...
  2. Rafterman

    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

Considering the "worst" tv in this house is better than 99% of the shit people play games on I'm gonna have say it's not my television(s). Besides, even at the preview events it looked like shit on tvs the size of a decent monitor, so is doesn't look great on any 65 inch tv. Jaggies...

    Destiny 2 - Clan Link 1st Post

When they say they "support" one of these apps they don't actually mean they coded it in, what they mean is that they aren't actively trying to block them. Bungie, to apparantly limit cheating, has chosen to block overlays. Afterburner still works, you just can't use the OSD. I dodged a bullet...

    Destiny 2 - Clan Link 1st Post

You think developers code in support for Afterburner and the like and that the reason they aren't working is they didn't pay Bungie money? You're being an idiot.

Target B2G1Free games starts on the 29th, doesn't include Switch games.

    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

I dunno, man. I have 4 tv's in this house and even on the smallest (49") it's a jaggy, blurry mess. It looks decent in handheld mode but it's flat out ugly on a tv that isn't tiny and it's all the more obvious if you happen to play any other game on PC/xbone/ps4 during your BotW playthrough...

The Big Bad Console Thread - Sway your Station with an Xboner !

I did the whole 4k upgrade thing for the Pro so I'm ready to go for the X. I haven't touched my Xbone since they announced the X, I've just been saving games to play because of how disappointing the standard and S are, both graphically and performance wise. Based on everything I've seen so far...

    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

    1) They sacrificed the graphics to make it portable, not to keep the price down. Cost wasn't a factor in it's power once they decided its form. And Palum is right, there are numerous features that wouldn't/shouldn't have effected the price at all that absolutely should have been part of the...

The Big Bad Console Thread - Sway your Station with an Xboner !

After seeing the Tomb Raider and SoM comparisons I went ahead and paid off my preorder for the X. I'm actually excited for its release. I think Microsoft was pretty smart (crazy right?) adding all the extra ram because the texture upgrades in SoM were pretty impressive compared to the Pro. The...

    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

It's the better game, for sure, but something in me is hardwired to love the Nintendo mascots and dislike Sonic and his ilk.

    RIP Visceral Games

Yeah, ME:A sucked because all the leads were white men. /s Weren't all the leads white men on all the other ME's also? And how does this clown get a pass on being an unabashedly overt racist in a time when people freak out at even the most mundane statements? Fuck this guy.

    RIP Visceral Games

Yeah, it's pretty amazing how badly they've squandered the Star Wars license, especially considering how big the IP has become again. As much as I buy multiplayer games, I'm definitely a singleplayer, story type of gamer, and huge SW nerd, so it sucks we won't be seeing this type of game any...

    RIP Visceral Games

Word is the game was a trainwreck and that's why the shift in developer and moving Amy Hennig off of it. Yes it's EA and that could just be their version of events but, if you remember, Uncharted 4 was in a bad way at the time she was forced out/left Naughty Dog also and they managed to right...

    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

Are you trying to convince him or yourself? Of course Nintendo is competing with Sony and Microsoft. They make consoles to play games on. When the NPD comes out and a bunch of Nintendo fans run to forums to tell us all how the Switch outsold the PS4 last month why do you think that is? It's only...

    Star Wars Battlefront II

Here's everything that I've learned about Star Cards and loot boxes since the beta: 1)Star Cards are in loot boxes. 2)The contents of loot boxes are random. 3) Loot boxes aren't rare, you earn them through challenges, daily log in, or buying with currency you earn in matches. 4)Any duplicate...

    Star Wars Battlefront II

Actually that article made me care less about loot boxes. I had planned on playing the single-player first anyway, and the fact that you can unlock many of the Star Cards through single-player is pretty cool. Between that and the fact they've already come out and stated that the best Star Cards...

    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

My nephew bought a bunch of movies on ppv and was forced to sell a console to pay for it. He got to choose between selling his PS4 or Switch. He literally handed his dad his Switch and walked away unfazed. Even 5 year olds know where the games are, and aren't. They gave it back to me since I'm...

    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

Not even close. The Xbox is struggling, and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who would recommend it as a primary console, but its library is vastly superior to the Switch.

Yeah, I can't wait for the "greatest game ever made" bullshit that inevitably follows any Zelda or Mario game release.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War (Shadow of Mordor Sequel)

No, I use it from time to time to get rid of issues like in this game. Maybe it's just me but the game looks flat and the lighting isn't very good. I've been playing the first one and I'm not sure the sequel looks better.
  21. Rafterman

Middle-earth: Shadow of War (Shadow of Mordor Sequel)

Just a heads up for you that already bought the game or plan on it. On the PC version you can use CheatEngine to give yourself currency to buy the boxes without spending real money. Console players are fucked, though, so I'd just wait until the price plummets before buying.

    SNES Classic - 9/29 - $80

Why would you support them releasing original games on a separate machine when they should be releasing all of this shit on the Switch?
  23. Rafterman

Middle-earth: Shadow of War (Shadow of Mordor Sequel)

Sucks not jumping into this game day one, but I'm not really wanting to get 3/4 through the game only to hit a wall because of lockboxes that I'm not going to buy. On the plus side the first game is still amazing, so I've been playing it most of the night and can get my Mordor fix that way. If...

Yes. Besides it's no more played out than, "we're still doing such and such in whatever year it is?"

    Star Wars Battlefront II

Because Boba Fett can become invincible for 1.5 seconds every 30 seconds if someone buys enough boxes, gets lucky with the right card, earns 5000 points in a match, and then gets to him first!!&@#%! In all seriousness lockboxes are an asshole design decision, but it's not that big a deal in...

    Star Wars Battlefront II

I'm just awful at this game. Like literally worse at this game than any other shooter I've ever played and I can't figure out why. I not amazing at other shooters, but even in Battlefield or the last Battlefront I'm a middle of the pack player who sometimes can get into the top few players on a...

    Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

Just want to add that with the expansion you get an unlimited portal stone in your storage after you get to the main city. It's really handy but if you want the "true" game experience I would completely ignore it until you go into a new game +. Much of the fun is having to risk going out into...
  29. Rafterman

    Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

It's the only game in the series, it's just packed with the expansion, so there is nothing to catch up on. Adding to j00t's point about night time and sticking to the roads, be sure to save often and make a good pawn because you're stuck with them for the rest of the game.

    Star Wars Battlefront II

Because it's a completely different scenario. The SoW shit turns a 15 hour game into an additional 40 hour slog without buying crates to see the actual ending to the game, the crates in BF2 don't impact people who don't buy them at all. The crates in BF2 are also given out for logging in and...

Middle-earth: Shadow of War (Shadow of Mordor Sequel)

It's a shame that they fucked up with the lootboxes in this game, I loved the first one and was looking forward to this one. Maybe someone will mod in a way to get Legendary orcs without the paywall.

    Star Wars Battlefront II

I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit on this. Unless he's was using a sniper rifle that didn't happen. Sacriel and Summit were playing together this morning and I watched while I was downloading, and there no mass of one shot, one kills going on. Not to mention I played most of the afternoon and...

    Star Wars Battlefront II

That's funny because the forums are filled with people whining about it being too different from the last game. I've been playing it for a couple of hours and it's an all around better game than the first. I think my favorite part is that it's not just a "one shot" shooter like the last game as...

    Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

So this game quietly came out on the PS4/Xbone yesterday. It's one of my favorite games ever, and highly underrated as far as I'm concerned. The PS4 version isn't going to win any graphics awards, but it's smooth as butter, a decided improvement from the PS3 version, and the lack of aliasing...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

I'd do the pre-alpha if it was $100 or so, but I'm not paying $1200 to test an MMO, that's just ridiculous. The game does look remarkably better. Maybe it will release before I die and I'll get to check it out.

    Fortnite - Epic Games - Team Survival/Strategy/Crafting/Combat

I played it for a bit last night and I can see why the PUBG guys are pissed. It looks great, runs like butter, and doesn't feel as janky as PUBG, plus it's free. The building angle is also adds a new wrinkle. The only thing PUBG really has going for it is the massive amount of streaming...
