Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

What? No Natural Born Killers love? They need to make a "Woody walks into a Cantina" variant of this scene (Spoiler: Woody shoots first!) Can't believe this clip is nearly 25 years old.

    Star Wars : Rogue One

Still plenty of real continuity errors without killing any Bothans. One example: Darth Vader in Star Wars (1977) "Don’t play games with me, Your Highness. You weren’t on any mercy mission this time. You passed directly through a restricted system. Several transmissions were beamed to this ship...

    Star Wars : Rogue One

Well, given that R1 is a prequel, it considers the previous prequels canon, and as such, those guys probably were already alive and kicking when the Galaxy was essentially run (or at least inter-galactically policed) by Jedi left and right.

    Star Wars : Rogue One

Well, maybe, but the points RLM brings up about R1 (and the prequels before that) are valid. Of course there is web traffic and fun to be hand in triggering overtly sensitive fan-boys who take every criticism of their favorite movie as personal insult. BvS had the same oddly rabid crowd of...

Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

Well, but Eisenberg being a total dork was part of the Zombieland formula. As much as I liked the pair in Zombieland, I don't think they would want to cast a young Han Solo in the bumbling-idiot-that-needs-to-get-some-real-life-exposure-role.

    Star Wars : Rogue One

Sure. But R1 is probably still in the top 3 or even top 2 star wars prequels. Shares some off-key CGI and taking itself to serious and most other flaws with Lucas's 2000s outings, but the colour palette is much easier on the eyes. On the other hand, some of the acting does make Hayden...

    Star Wars : Rogue One

People here who liked the movie liked that it was fan service with little wink wink moments like Yavin IV, Red 5 getting shot, etc.., They also like the idea of a "war movie" in Star Wars, which means more to them than some of the pacing issues, lack of charismatic leads, inane character moments...

    Star Wars : Rogue One

Dunno, like all Star Wars prequels, it took itself way to serious (with the possible exception of the droid and the Spaceballs planet shield). Dodgy CGI also kinda gave it a prequel vibe. Still one of the better Star Wars prequels, but not Original-trilogy or TFA material for me.

    Star Wars : Rogue One

I don't get why they didn't just recast that role with a similar-looking guy. Yes, the original actor was iconic, but his reasoning for not being there are arguably more understandable and the switch, especially given the time, would not have been any more disturbing than, dunno, Disney's...
