Finally got around to playing some more. The twin dragon fight almost killed me, shit was tough. I think I ended that fight with no health items left and was at 43HP or something. Good fight. Later on got the dagger throw crystal and it seems pretty damn powerful lol.

SoTN was extremely easy. The DS ones were more difficult for sure. I think EoE was the hardest.

The realm I picked during the stress test was unplayable due to the sheer amount of people in elwynn forest. I remade as a orc on the same server and there was a night and day difference just in elwynn vs durotar. Dunno how packed Tirisfal was, however.

Pretty sure cloud started with lightning and cure materia in the OG game too. I believe it was in your armor though, I thought the original buster sword didn't have slots.

FF7 will have new materia and materia will be visible on your gear.

Made a human warrior and after an hour struggling to kill 10 kobolds with 300 people squatting on their spawn points I wised up and made a orc warrior. Got to level 6 in about an hour in Durotar. No one wants to play on current live Zek cause its a clusterfuck with current itemization and AA. Classic-Velious was the sweet spot for PVP and even then the game definitely leans in favor of some classes. Sullon Zek was the most fun I've had in EQ ever.

EoE on phini supposedly had a bunch hit as well, but it might be just hearsay.

How are you supposed to come back as a skeleton warrior or zombie to terrorize the living if you are cremated? You gotta consider these things.

OGC, EoE, Arcane Ascentions, Last of the Ancients, Rosenguard, Resolute are all still raiding to various degrees of success. Cult of Chaos got mostly absorbed by AA, but some of us went to OGC, and a couple to Reso. Think only three people that I know of have just outright quit.
