Believe it or not, for Bespoke (kill teams made specifically kill team) Kill Teams have narrative rules. So there are two types of Kill Teams Compendium & Bespoke. Compendium Teams which draw from from 40k Armies to form up kill teams. Models from your 40k army can translate into playing Kill...

Kill Team is a much smaller, faster, and more game interactive game than 40k. Including the pre-game setup, games should be longer than an hour and a half once you get use to playing. And the point of entry into the game is significantly lower than 40k as well.
