Seems unlikely. The tech has existed for years to upload game profiles to the Cloud (lawl) and download them at a later time. Characters transferred to A Realm Reborn no problem, didn't they? I know ESO did it and that was across platforms.

Hopefully they do away with player character levels entirely, and progression is a function of gear + materia.

FF7 was nowhere near 110 hours of actual decent gameplay. That included 20 hours of grinding out master materia levels, 20 hours of chocobo racing/breeding, 10 hours of battle arena farming etc etc etc. The game was probably closer to 50 hours of real substantive gameplay.

IIRC my full gold chocobo KOTR playthrough was 110 hours. That was when I was a lot younger and not good at RPGs or gaming in general. The original game is not enough content for an episodic release by today's standards. Unless the 'world map' is a fully fleshed out open world of course. But...

Yeah... Full action combat isn't even possible unless they get rid of summons. There has to be moments where combat can 'pause' to run a cinematic. Unless of course they treat the summons themselves like real time battle participants/spells ongoing while you can perform other actions.
