When they had multiple brokers stop people from buying and only allowed them to sell...that is the signal to get out. The big boys threw their weight around and aren't taking any more of an "L" than they already have.

This person may be right. It might be the clearinghouse that forced these brokers to stop the trading because of the liquidity problem. Apparently they have to hold trade stocks for like 2 days. And as we saw, BILLIONS of trades in a day were happening. Worth a watch.

Theoretically they would have to liquidate assets to pay for their shorts or to get the money to cover their stocks they borrowed at market price. Which means selling good stocks and driving those prices down. So it could drive down the market in a lot of areas.
