Critically acclaimed shows of the last 20 years that you haven't watched

I'm really loving Hannibal. The first two episodes are excellent and it's very creepy. Also, there's a lot of blood/violence for it being on network television during primetime. Someone getting shot in the head in broad daylight while someone else standing there gets sprayed with the blood...

The Authoritative Final Fantasy & Bravely Default thread

Even if you take the worst nodes possible and "gimp" your characters, it makes almost no difference, it's just a couple of stat points, there is really no boss or fight that becomes unbeatable, or really any harder. in the main game, you just might have to switch once or twice more into a...

    Bioshock Infinite

Why would they be pointless now? the game's only been out 1 week, many people are not quite through it yet, especially if they didn't get it on release day and/or like to take their time and explore each area.

February Book of the Month Poll

Voted for American Gods, since I just finished his Fragile Things + Anansi Boys. If Rothfus' series was actually finished, I'd go with that, but standalone books are better for this type of thing, or at least a series that you can read without having to wait a few years to get to the end.

Diablo 3 - Reaper of Souls

I tried Path of Exile. In my honest opinion, I just didn't like it as much as D3. it feels cheaper and less polished. the animations are jerky, the minimap sucks, garbage loot filling the screen makes it impossible to see or click on anything, and I'm not into e-peen ladders and races. It has...

The Authoritative Final Fantasy & Bravely Default thread

Of all the problems 7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, 12, 13, and 13-2 had, the fucking clothing that they were wearing was the least of my concerns. I'm a pretty big sucker for any final fantasy, but XIII did feel too claustrophobic and linear, the story was the same re-hashed "We can save the world with...

    Crime Fiction

I find it really really hard to read anything other than michael connelly for crime noir nowadays. He's just that much better than everyone else in the genre. John Sandford's "Prey" series isn't too far behind, and I like Jeffery Deaver's books too. Everytime I try someone new that's gotten...

    Recomended Reading Thread

I'll add a couple to the list that haven't been mentioned, and as a bonus, these sets are all finished and not waiting around for a year between books to be written: Fred Saberhagen - Book of Swords series. I like it because the interplay between the characters and the swords is very well...
