What class/build are you playing? This has a lot to do with that. A lot of what you are referring to has been addressed for a lot of the skills but there are still some big offenders.

Warlock absolutely did get nerfed. The spirit plague ward generation got massively nerfed, which was a big portion of their (very op) survivability. Though that's an acolyte nerf in general.

You don't need to self inflinct, in fact you don't want to unless you're bleed immune. Just need to put any elemental ailment on the enemy.

Forbidden Flame and Flesh combos are pretty juicy for Slayers overall. But Gladiators can steal the endurance = frenzy passive from slayer as well which is also juicy

That doesn't seem like *that* big a deal to me. Poison builds have ramp times and are still very good and very popular. Slayers can get endurance charges as a defensive layer basically for free and can also get brutal charges or affliction charges with a Maven belt at high value.
