There is no wrapping up at that speed, there is only violent collisions. If he made contact with Welker at that angle and speed a flag was getting thrown. It is just the shitty state of the rules.

The state of pass interference and WR/DB contact in general is a hot mess. It's incredibly subjective and unevenly applied from refereeing crew to crew...and when you're dealing with a spot foul or 1-yard-line penalty it can really fuck up games.

I really like what the league has done with helmet to helmet hits and horse collar tackles, but if those aren't happening I fully believe they need to let these guys play ball more than they currently are.

Did you not watch the slow mow? His shoulder hits him right in the shoulder/chest. Was pretty clean just looked bad at full speed and the way his neck snapped back.

Even some helmet to helmets are tough. How many times have you seen a player duck in to one. Really is tough to watch.

They should allow more contact by DBs but they won't because offense is more exciting.

On slow mo it looked like his helmet hit the other guys faceguard. Not saying it was a bad hit, was definitely borderline, but you don't call borderline against the Patriots. I actually think it looked clean at full speed and bad in slow mo

It looked like the crown of his helmet went right into the chin of Pitta which is an illegal hit, and frankly, way more dangerous than the hit on Welker.

Also, refs dont watch the game in slowmo so fuck off with how the hit looked in slowmo.

This is what needs to be done. They changed it in the 70's because of Mel Blount, needs to go back to contact past 5 yards to level the playing field.
