Yeah I really don't see Manning going into coaching for exactly those reasons. Mucho stress and not much payoff for most of the teams actually in need of a coach.
i picture him dressing just in case he needs to get in there and get a touchdown.

Peyton Manning says he's chilled out some over the last few years. I'm not sure he'll end up coaching but it would be nice to see him stay with the game in some fashion. I hope if nothing else that he at least keeps doing the QB camp.

Anyone think Favre will transition from highschool coaching to college and then maybe the pros?

Is Favre getting great results in high school? I never got the impression he'd be some great X's and O's type guy, but there's every possibility I'm wrong. Still, usually when a guy in his position does the high school thing it's more just to keep busy and stay near the game than to try and really climb the coaching ladder, so I wouldn't expect anything to come of it.

Manning will have to get a TV job, he's too good. I'd expect something more like Rodney Harrison's SNF job than a booth job or something on ESPN that keeps him on camera all the time outside of game day.

He's blowing out high school teams by 50 points

other than Deion & maybe Michael Irving, i'm not sure if there's any precedent for a player of Peytons calibur doing TV gigs.

Marino is close, but he really is ancient history at this point.

OK I looked up Favre's coaching. He's just the OC and his team finished 8-4(4th in their division) as far as I could tell. WTF are we talking about a high school OC on a mediocre team for again?

Dungee describes it as Manning being too passionate and emotionally invested and controlling. As a coach he'd have to be able to roll with it better and that's not described as his style.

Are there really many HoF QB's out there that are OC's or HC's now? There might well be some I'm unaware of I'll admit.
Not too many HoF QB's brought their entire offensive scheme with them when they changed teams either. On the other hand, I think he would be great on TV, if not as a color commentator he could kick Trent Dilfer's ass out and sit next to Steve Young after Monday Night Football. Like others have said, way less stress and probably equal or more money going that route but I could certainly see him being an OC down the road more than any other player that I can think of. On the third hand, he has made a shit-ton of money and has apparently invested it fairly well and the commercials will probably keep rolling in for a while (Steve Young did Toyota commercials for like 10 years after he retired), so he probably will do whatever the fuck he wants regardless of the money it brings in.

Its probably more likely he would replace Gruden, assuming he jumps back into coaching, on MNF. It depends on how bad he wants to be around the game. Favre is just coaching near where he grew up (and his father coached him), so its more of a hobby thing there. I think that niether one will end up coaching at a pro level. Few even mediocre QBs do (Starr, the Harbaugh brothers?), for whatever reason.

I am a Packer backer, but like hell if I think that game is a lock for GB. And whoever said AP wasn't fumble prone this year, he tends to do it post season and outdoors (he played almost no games outside since winter started yet this season), but its possible his recovery has made him better at protecting the ball in general. Biggest deal is if Woodson's return actually allows them to bring more men down to the line and if the Packer D actually tackle for a change. I can't believe that GB got picked by all the sports writers, given rescent Lambeau playoff history. Also, I am suprised so many of them are picking the Ravens, who basically backslid into the playoffs almost as bad as the Texans did.

Talking about QBs going into coaching, what do you think of Brady's post-retirement plans. Besides fucking a supermodel

I'm sure there would be a seat for him if he wanted it. I don't see him doing it though. I'm not sure he would be very good at it. I think Rodgers would be awesome at it.

Which team has the most to lose this playoffs?

What if Green Bay flames out at home again? Same with Atlanta?

If the Pats dont make the super bowl that will be looked at as a failure, and if the Texans get bounced early there will be major questions about Kubiak going forward. Manning losing in the playoffs again will raise questions about him being a winner in crunch time and if Kapanigga looks bad in his first playoff start and the Niners lose at home Harbaugh's shine is going to get tarnished big time. His brother too, the Ravens are Super Bowl or bust at this point.

So many exciting opportunities! No one will really care if the Vikes, Colts, Skins, Seahawks or Bungles lose though.

If the packers can't tackle AP, game over green bay. You can't knock AP over in a halfassed push. Ponder got some good throws in last few games, heck AP even caught one.AP rushed 400 yards vs. green bay in 2 games.... Wright and simpson got better in the passes, and let's be serious, rodgers ate more grass then a cow this season, Griffen got what, 5 sacks on rodgers last game?

Vikings over packers........SKOL!
