There needs to be some kind of rule that states that if there's a defensive penalty at the end of a game (like this Texans game) that would automatically be declined to end the game, the refs can avoid being Dr. Buzzkill and just ignore the flag.

Well it'd be pointless now that all scoring plays have to be reviewed.

True, but it just felt like extra buzzkill. I'm not even a Texans fan (my team is the one with no wide receivers), but I was annoyed for Texans fans anyway. Maybe it's the way the ref came out and seemed to cop a "Hold everything, there's a flag. Ok, it's on the defense. Hey it's declined" attitude.

Or maybe I've just been watching too much sweet, glorious Red Zone and have achieved at-oneness with my fellow NFL fans. If you need any more input from me, I'll be sitting in the lotus position trying to will Larry Fitzgerald into coming to New England.

A wins a win, but Bears played way too sloppy today. You can't give up that many points in three different phases of the game and expect to make the playoffs. Nice to see the Catler lead a game winning drive instead of throwing a game losing pick though.

I was just typing a comment about how I wouldn't be surprised if Bush lead PPR leagues in fantasy scoring...then he reminded me why that won't happen.
