I think the difference is he's hanging up 35+ points every week while the defense isn't letting anyone get close. Like no one has scored 30 on Denver yet and the opposing scores are probably skewed by garbage time TDs regardless. That's a formula to break a lot of hearts.

Broncos need to not lose a game this season, because if they don't then Manning will probably start getting benched at the end of games or at the end of the season when they've clinched the top seed. And that would mean records not getting broken
