Hardly see how that is relevant, also you might want to at least mention something that's wrong like the typical "LOL U THOT DA FRNT 7 WA SOFFENS"
That was absolutely the right call. Play is over when the player is on the ground and makes no attempt to advance the ball. Slamming the ball into the ground is very much an I'm done with this shit move.
